Van Damme recently announced that he's retiring, because he suffers from serious hearing loss in one of his ears and also it's getting more and more difficult for him to perform fight scenes. It's a shame, even if his movies weren't ''high art'' or something, they were always entertaining. I also like the fact, that he left his ''cocaine douchebag phase'' behind, got this act together and became much more chill in recent years. Unlike a certain other ''martial arts superstar'' * wink * . I'm gonna miss the Muscles from Brussels, grew up watching his flicks on VHS, back in the day.

Just curious, but how many films _are_ there in which JCVD plays twins? Off the top my head I can't think of any... The first thing that came to mind was the one where JC teams up with Dennis Rodman, LOL! I was like, _"Oops, nope! Just a team up, not JCVD as twins!"_ 🤔🙂
@JackOfAllNerdsShow2 жыл бұрын
@@munstrumridcully Haha, it's not really that many. He plays twins in this movie and in Maximum Risk, though in that, his twin is killed at the start and the movie is more a revenge flick. He then plays clones in Replicant. And while technically not twins or clones, I'll give a shoutout to Time Cop where he plays the same character from two different times and appears on screen together (briefly). Apparently, there were talks of a sequel to this called Triple Impact where he would play triplets (not sure how they would explain that considering how this movies opens, but why was this never made?!)

Another great review. "He starts banging his head into the wall until he forgets second grade math." - LOVE IT! Best line. I love how the good side girlfriend is blonde with fair skin and light colored clothing, and the bad side "security" woman has tanned skin, dark red hair, and is wearing a black leather outfit - I would have been SO confused without them being so on the nose. Also, when he is fighting the dude using spurs as a weapon, the only thing that went through my mind was a verse from a song, "I got these spurs and they go, Jingle Jangle". Full disclosure, I remember watching this movie and hating it, and now I am reminded why.

Schwarzenegger and Van Damme movies always had a scene to explain their accents(JCVD would inevitably take a moment to say "Yes, I'm from Ohio but I went on a senior class trip to Belgium"). Not trying to rain on your parade, I haven't even seen this movie. But when he reloaded his pistol, the slide wasn't locked back. In a properly working pistol of that type, Berreta 92, the slide locks after the last round has been fired. If there was still a round in the chamber, let alone any ammo in the mag before he dropped it? He would not need to work the slide to put a round in the chamber. Great video btw, always enjoy your style. Honest energy and high quality editing, make for damn good content.

I just watched the full scene myself out of curiosity to see if he was carrying it unloaded without a mag to begin with and right before the edited clip in this video, you can see the slide back after firing and he hits the slide release my guess by accident before replacing the mag. So a movie blunder that makes red eye reviews correct as it likely doesn’t have a cartridge in the chamber but maybe not for the original reason lol.
