Double Slash Makes Great Swords More Interesting | Elden Ring PVP | Arena Duels | Patch 1.10 |

In this video, we're looking at some of the redeeming qualities and drawbacks of the Double Slash ash of war. In short, this ash of war feels amazing on a greatsword, as it is somewhat reminiscent of what dueling with a sword would actually look like in real life. Rather than smashing the blade on the ground like an ogre, you "perform a crossing slash attack from a low stance." Better yet, repeated inputs allow for up to two follow-up attacks, continuing with three fast horizontal slashes... culminating into a final vertical slashing attack. It offers plenty of mix-up potential and the poise damage is impressive in its own right.

A nice thing about this ash of war is that its wind up looks a lot like a normal charged heavy horizontal swing that will leave you open to a backstab. But you come out with the quick double strike in stead.

Double slash with the cool spins of knight's/banished knight's greatsword makes a nice historically accurate knight greatsword combat

I get using the Iron Great Sword for that A strength scaling, however if you are looking for elegance there is always the Banished Knight's Great Sword or the Knight's Great Sword.

When it comes to elegance, I agree, those are definitely your best choices. They also have true combo potential which is why you see them in arena way more often. Greatswords in general are just so good in this patch.

Double slash is even BETTER on the SCYTHE, cold or poison infuse it, trust, poison for dot and buffing is solid with the scythe, the sword insignias, and poison talisman/crown make for a beautiful combo

The frost will buildup quite nicely with double slash 😎 I gotta try an infusion with this setup as well

that's for duels but what's your opinion on it for invasions?

I wouldn’t recommend it for invasions, mostly due to the lack of hyper armor. If you mistime it, you could easily get blendered. Things like piercing fang, spinning slash, sword dance, and my favorite…braggarts roar are all solid choices for invasions.

@@Razz150 fair enough, if it had hyperarmor probably i would use it more often, but yeah i've tested it with a claymore and people almost never expected it, and as you said in your video, it has really good roll catch potential. also i feel another weapon that works really well with this AoW are scythes, it covers one of the weaknesses of the weapon, the dead angle.
