I agree. This song is a "Timeless Classic". Unfortunately, most of today's musicians can't write, play any instruments, and perform without help from computer software, cussing lyrics, and denigrating women just to sound good. This happens when you have underfunded music schools and appreciation out of public schools.

It's a "heartache" song - BOTH versions. I first heard the original version when my first girlfriend broke up with me - and I felt like crawling into a hole and pulling it in after me. The instrumental version is more the "take your Significant Other in your arms" and doing something darn near similar to ease your agony. I sent a link to my current S. O. for that very reason. I loved it in the 80’s; however, it wasn’t all that great in the US. Nice to know that it’s true glory grew and well stood the testament on time… at least 3 - 4 decades ago a friends father that was an electrical engineer had built his own speakers amoung other components and it was quite the delight to listen to this on his system. Seems like yesterday, he has since passed and those speakers are likely long gone. A lesson in appreciating the present that I certainly failed to recognize as a teenager. Huge respect in hindsight….
