1986 I just said goodbye to my fiancé as he went off into the NAVY. Alone, I was driving home when listening to this song on the WAVE 94.7 in California. I was already missing my honey. 4 kids and two grandchildren later, almost 40 years together, how time flies.

Okay after reading all of these people saying they tear up listening to this, now I'm doing it too. Because it's so beautiful and deep and goes right in and pushes buttons. Only music can do this, and we must have had more variety of it in the 80's than anyone. We are blessed that way.

When I was a kid my family would take summer vacations to Wildwood, NJ. I was probably 6 or 7 the summer this was released. I recall vividly having a battery boombox on the beach in the evening, walking with my sister and my dad. The sound of the waves, the feel of wet sand under your feet at dusk, and the smell coupled with the giant Ferris wheel and roller coaster lights in the distance, awaiting our arrival the next day. This song will forever bring back these memories for both my sister and I. It just stuck, and I love it everytime I hear it. The changes and melody just make you feel. Thanks for writing such a great song!
