Purchased this to replace a guide pulley kzbin.infoUgkxO9seYZjlnuP5UvMkb7osQW3WxPVeSnPk on our John Deere x304 snowblower. As I stated in the title, it is just about perfect. The stock pulley has a spacer at the bottom. I used four washers to emulate said spacer, and it works perfectly now. Great product, and great price especially if compared to typical JD prices.

I did this same thing with a 90's model Vari-Drive mower, I also bought a 3" longer than stock belt (stock is 53, I bought 56) and it worked perfect, despite being an older and different setup. Swapped on a v-twin, bypassed the governor and it will go 15 MPH before the valves float. Cheap and effective, I want to try a torque converter on the crank pulley!

Grade 8 bolts are made to hold things together, fastening one thing to another. They are not made for shear strength.. they will snap when the shear force is too high where as a grade 5 bolt will bend and flex before it breaks. Most people think a grade 8 or hardened bolt is the best you can get and you should use them in place of a grade 5 if you need something stronger and that’s just not the case unless they are being used to fasten one thing to another.
@chud3274 жыл бұрын

I learned from being on a farm where there's lots of different farm equipment that uses sheer bolts and they were designed to be weaker than the machine parts they connect. That gives you tons of options to go as fast or slow as you can handle driving it lol.

By flipping the front pulley, the deck would only turn half as fast, so you wouldn't want to use it to mow the grass any more. Looks like you could have flipped the intermediate pulley (the one at 8:20) instead and gotten the same result. And then you could still use it with the deck on it. Of course, if you have no intention of using it to mow the grass, you could _still_ flip that second pulley, and get even *_more_* speed out of it.

I may have to look into that, unfortunately, the mower came with no deck… thanks for watching!

my one rider, if the mower deck is off (like in this video) if I stand on the back of the rider, it will lift the front off the ground some, so it does not take a lot, with something like this with a very high center of gravity...very fun!

That's pretty cool how fast a mower can go

50, 60, 70, and up... Just depends on what all you do to it. thanks for watching.

I think it would be more aerodynamic if you put the angle iron under the frame rather than having it outside. Thataway you won't catch your flip flop on it when you lose another wheelie. Thanks for the fun!

Yes, you are right and it has been already switched out. I did like it sticking out. thanks for watching.

Chud: I'm going to double the speed of this by increasing the size of the pulley. Me: that's stupid now he's cutting the torque in half. It'll take forever to accelerate. Chud: does a wheelie and a tiny rooster tail Me: .... N/m he's good

Is this drive line set up the same as a yard machine
@chud3275 жыл бұрын
Exactly the same as far as i can tell. Thanks for watching.

It is the same sir. I took the belt part number and got the same belt as you but with the rear drive belt how do I keep it from breaking so much or shredding or it slipping
@shlushe10504 жыл бұрын
Use a hand throttle. You can use a brake handle from a bicycle. Just mount it to the steering wheel and have fun

I have seen that before, might need to try it and thanks for watching!

@chud3275 жыл бұрын
It is better than ever. "Wyatt Henry" is trying to fix it up as another mower in his fleet. He has solidly bolted the hood on, put tires on it, and got the steering freed up. He has to find another engine and a seat for it, but that should be a problem.

Has the belt setup held up good? I just picked up a 73in belt and shredded my stock rear belt.
