This is really so well done. The visuals are extremely helpful. I have difficulty with the written word at times. I am wondering it you might consider doing a visual on double weave on larger RH loom and how to adjust if one runs out of space on cloth beam (ie. weaving a throw). I would enjoy seeing the process so one can continue weaving and not lose the tension required to finish. I think you would be ideal for this because your visuals to detail are remarkable as well as your patience and teaching skills. I think many rh weavers would appreciate and benefit from this to take any size RH to another level. Only an appropriate length of sample would be necessary to demonstrate . Thanks for the consideration.

Thank you so much for all of this!!! I watched all of the videos up to here. I think I'm going to get another heddle and do this on my 15" Cricket. I mean, I can already do doublewidth on my 4-shaft loom, but, I have been looking and looking and looking for a way -- and an explanation for how to handle the heddles on a loom not designed for double heddles.

Amy, Very helpful! Thank you so much! Have a 10” Ashford SampleIt and wondering if the heddles are used in the up, down & neutral positions on the blocks instead of having to push them down and pull them up, as you are doing on the Cricket. Also wondering how you unfold your fabric at the end, since you spread your warp as if it were a single layer of fabric. Don’t have a second heddle yet, but your video has given me the vision for the possibilities!

Hi Kim! You're Welcome! Yes, you would use the blocks on your Ashford. When you are done, you would take out the waste yarn and then open up your fabric and tie knots in the ends like you would do normally. Yay! I'm so happy you are seeing the possibilities. All the best ~Amy

You could do patterns in double wide if you got two more rigid heddles and two more pick ups...but that's kind of complicated, even on a floor loom.

I have a question for you , on the heddle reeds one side is flat the other side is protruding out , can you explain the reason why this is .

I think it has something to do with strengthening the holes. You use the flat side because it is even. But all of us have warp it backwards at least once and not taken it off and can testify that the bumpy side will work too! Some heddles are flatnln both sides!
