@@drinkingpoolwater I’m very happy to hear that the video helped you! So, to be perfectly honest, I’ll tell you a little bit about me, personally. I have a habit of overdoing pretty much everything in my life. You name it, I’m kind of just an extremist, especially when it comes to muscling something or tightening down bolts. Therefore, I was trying to tell myself to really go easier with tightening down the spark plugs instead of going too hard. Knowing myself, my thoughts were I’d rather under do it than overdo it. I went until it felt pretty snug, and then I gave it as much of a quarter turn as I thought was necessary before it felt like it was potentially getting too tight. Of course, to do this with utmost precision, you just need a torque wrench as I said in the video. However, I figured just being careful and doing it by feel was good enough for me. Otherwise, hope that explains my reasoning behind that, and I appreciate your comment! If you haven’t already, please make sure to leave me a like, also consider subscribing to the channel! 3:20 My husband was changing our sparkplugs.it's a Accord V6 3.5 2012 . Always check the gap even if it is pregapped. We had 4 out of 6 that was gapped at 0.40, 0.41, 0.40, 0.42. Also, we have the ECO VCM problem. The problem that kills the #3 plug about every 3 months. VCM turns off #3, and #__ . I can't remember the other one. But #3 is off the most. It allows because it's off so much that plug carboned more, causing a misfire and a blinking check engine light. We can buy a after market thing that will bypass the VCM mode but uses more gas. We keep saying we gonna do it. But the car runs so good when the sparkplug working. When it happens it was always at bad times. In the middle of a work week, stuff like that.

@@DoubleClutchAutoReviews No problem, quick question - do I need to change the coil packs along with the spark plugs? I got some nice spark plugs this week and am thinking about DIYing it.
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews Ай бұрын
@@Bluj162 Very good question… In my humble opinion, it all depends. If you want to do the job 100%, and not have to deal with it again for a long time, you could definitely replace the coil packs. However, for me, I wanted to try to avoid that unless it was absolutely necessary, because I’m on a pretty tight budget right now, and I didn’t want to spend $130 per coil pack if I didn’t need to. My plan was to take them all out and inspect them when I did this job, and if they didn’t look cracked or otherwise worn, I was just going to put them back in and hope for the best. I changed the spark plugs, put it all back together, and then I gave it a good hard acceleration and the misfire didn’t happen again. I considered that a win, and just left it at that. 😅 That’s my two cents, though! Hope that helps, and good luck! 😁👍

It’s free, and it really helps me out to grow, so I certainly appreciate it. And thank you! I didn’t realize that it looked that clean. In my opinion, I thought it looked mediocre at best, but I appreciate the compliment! 😅 I try to keep it spiffed up every now and then. I don’t kill myself on it though. It’s not exposed to the elements like the paint is, for instance, and it’s also not a show car where I’m popping the hood trying to show it off all of the time. What I do to keep it clean is just a simple vacuum of all the crevices that I can get, and then I take some quick detailing spray (Meguiars, Mother’s, Turtle wax, whatever you like) and then just spiff up all of the services that I can reach. Use an old rag, because it’s obviously going to get lot of grease/oil on it. Hope that helps, and good luck! -Mark 😎🤙

@@UserRjt I really appreciate that! Thanks so much. Feel free to reach back out and let me know how it turned out. 😎 Also, if you wanna go crazy with cleaning your engine bay, ChrisFix has a great video on how to do that. The only part about that video that I wouldn’t personally do is powerwash it. I know he puts a trash bag over the engine components, but I just don’t need to risk any sort of potential electrical issue just to have a clean engine bay IMHO. It’s my daily, not my SEMA build 😅 He does a great job explaining everything else, though! Check that out too if you would like. Take care! 🤙
