My Rank 1 climb continues. This time we went big. Not only did I make it to the 1000LP mark, I sprinted past it to a sub-20 position on the ladder by abusing good old red side. I end day 61 at Rank 15. The crazy part is I'm only halfway there. During this video I get a games with and against ‪@Biofrostlol‬, ‪@Spicalol‬. and breezy.

Is red side truly better than blue side? Yes is basically the answer. I play a ton of jinx skin in this video and also pop off with a few lucian skin moments. Its like a jinx montage lucian montage. Rank 1 climb solo que highlights queue highlights high elo montage adc bottom lane montage

I don't even think red side has any clear disadvantages in SoloQ. I think in pro play blue side has a drafting advantage where they can leave up a single really strong pick, and guarantee selecting it, where red side has to try and ban all the priority picks - but in soloq most players are not playing the priority picks tbh, and getting counterpicks on red side is really strong. I genuinely think most of the winrate advantage blue side sees in low elo, is because the average player has pretty bad camera management & can't kite/move their characters well on red side. In high elo people just don't have that problem. The blue side winrate is like 51% in diamond & below, and like 47% in masters & above

The system was put in place back when red side had map disadvantages, but with the recent map changes, those are pretty much gone. The only disadvantage on red side now is worse camera angle for bot side i think.

Riot has data that red side is disadvantaged, so they implemented the MMR difference. The mmr skew is implemented at all ranks btw, which is why the win rate is really balanced in most elos (below like mid master) and then in mid master+ the games just get really wonky b/c it's hard to find the right balance of mmr.

@@andrew_240 since the map update most of the red side disadvantages have gone away, the only reason blue has a 51% wr in low elo, is because low elo players are bad at moving the camera

@@matthewcao8514 blue side was at 51% winrate globally below master tier, blue side was at less than 47% winrate in master+ globally (over 3% difference is massive). Honestly I bet they've tried to hotfix tweak the matchmaking algorithm on the backend since all of this blew up in their face, but there's plenty of documentation about what I just said

I'm genuinely curious how the current rank 1 NA went from only hitting platinum in 2020 and 2021 but out of nowhere is challenger 2024 and currently at 2.1k LP. Either they have a fuck ton of funds to pay for continuous boosting or someone needs to make a documentary to show people that they can genuinely can improve. It's either really inspiring or he's boosted, no in between.

So blue side is/was super strong when meta is calm and well balanced because each role probably has one or two priority picks and a meta developped around that. The best example of it going to far was Yuumi/Aatrox meta where every bo5 would go 3-2 to whoever played 3 games of blue, since red was priced in to banning yuumi as a tax because she would always get picked first if open. When metas are open/disorganized like now red actually has the draft advantage since they get counter pick. And the players whod be most likely to he able to play a counterpick comfortably are the higher rank players. Its another example of trying to artificially fix a problem inevitably causing a problem in some other area

The Red - Side Blue - Side thing only exist above master bc the system doesn't have enough players to correctly correct the differenz. And so the system takes high Elo rated players and pairs them against master. Funny thing is some challenger have 60% wr on Red - Side. If you look at Ranks under Master there is no Problem the system is ok in lower Ranks bc you got a wider range of players.. So yeah riot needs to fix this asap.
