Something fresh and new. I'm sooooo looking forward to this. I'm not really into scary movies, but I do like a good suspense thriller. I don't think the editors of the trailer would have given the entire plot of the movie away, so I'm hoping there is way more to this movie than meets the eye.

This will be terrifying for everyone both white and black since the themes and ideas here are truly horrifying. Being trapped inside your own mind, people doing fucked up shit to your body and there is nothing you can do about it. Though I do think they might have showed a little to much in the trailer that will diminish several scenes in the actual movie.

This seems a little too on the nose. Whenever there is an American movie or tv show where there is a black and white lead couple, the fact they are a different colour is always a key plot point. It kinda shows the cultural segregation of the country, In British movies and TV if there is a interracial couple the fact they are a different colour is hardly ever a notable plot point, because interracial couple are not taboo in England, like it still can be in america.
@charlybr0wn2268 жыл бұрын
Well as of recent our race relations have gone down the tubes with the growing of the Black Lives Matter movement. I honestly think the movie will be good because it's partly supposed to be satirical which I think helps relieve those types of things.
@fredmart71308 жыл бұрын
In the US, white and black people are like from two different worlds even if they are from the same city
@Delboy08 жыл бұрын
Exactly in the British shows Luther, Utopia and Cockroaches they have a lead couple where the man is black and the female love interest is white and them being a different colour isn't mentioned or a plot vehicle because to due so in a British context would seem dated, when biracial couples and children are so common in the UK. In America most people only socialise with people of the same race which is why you get more stereotypes of different races in the media and a President candidate that thinks all black people in America are gangbangers.
@Delboy08 жыл бұрын
multigrooves I partly agree class has something to do with British people being more tolerant. Only the very rich owned slaves in Britain and very few of these slaves were on the British mainland, so everyday British people never saw black slaves. So interracial relationships where never outlawed in England like the USA, so a white peasant was seen as equal to a black slave and a black merchant was seen as a equal to a white merchant so it was more about class than race. The pre-20th century black population disappeared because they were essentially fucked white. Black men were seen as so attractive to Tavern wenches that a politician of the 18th century said he was worried Britain would become a negro nation due to British women having too much sex with black men in the 18th century. This history is very different to America where regular people had slaves and the slaves were on the mainland. This gave white Americans a superiority complex and that exists still today in America where they deem black people as lesser people. America outlawed interracial couples for centuries because the superiority complex was so strong where that they didn't believe black and whites should be having sexual relations, unless it was a white male rapping a slave. This is why interracial racial relationships are seen as more taboo in the USA due to Americans history and the psyche it created with Americans.
@charlybr0wn2268 жыл бұрын
Delboy0 I disagree with your assessment here. I don't think there's a lot of white people here who still have a superiority complex to black people rather I think there's still a little bit of left over tension between the races. For instance a white person is stepping over egg shells telling a joke about black people but blacks can make fun of whites all they want. It's like white people are guilty about what they did in the past and black people still hold a grudge. Granted there are still racists here but there in the minority. At least that's my experience.

You guys need to see the BBC documentary Black Hollywood 2004 that was presented by Henry Louis Gates where he goes to examine how Hollywood works and how black experience the industry. He speaks to this major producer Arnold Michen, the guy who green-lit and produced films like Big Short, Revenant, 12 years a slave, Fight Club as well as Big Mommas house and the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies. Henry Louis Gates asks him the question why nearly all A-list black actresses have been in movies with a white male love interest, but you never see a movie with an A-list American white actress with a black male love interest. i Half expected him to deny it to say his reputation, but he was what he said to answer it. 'When a white man is having sex or kissing with a black women on the screen it is exotic, but when a black man is kissing a white women it is dangerous'. Dangerous is the word he used. He then realises he has said too much and uses the disclaimer that if black male and white female films made money he would do it. Well Porn is 100 times bigger than the feature film industry and according to pornhub the the 3 most searched porn term for women worldwide is big black cock, so clearly there is a market.

They took the black out of him!! Not knowing Peel (I know he's a popular black comedian right now, but didn't associate him with this) was doing this, I thought it was racist as fuck, trying to "tap in" to the black market in the most ignorant/racist way possible. Now that I know it's being done by a black comedian... I'm just confused.
