this comic actually makes a good way to show how yes he is a good person but reminds us why he was in hell in the first place

First off, no one really knows what gets people into Heaven or Hell at this point - although this incident might have played a role in it, it's impossible to say what the deciding factor was. Secondly, one can interpret his motives in multiple ways here: for instance, when he tells the kid that he doesn't love him it could be him telling the truth (he only learned to appreciate his son after he was gone and lived with the regret of his actions ever since) or it could also be an attempt to dismiss the kid with a lie to cover up the fact that he really did care about him deep down (even if he was terrible at expressing it) and he was so hurt by the loss that he tried to forget about him (perhaps by burying himself in his work with machines - perhaps going so far as to convince himself that he has a machine-like personality that doesn't feel anything to escape the pain). The dialogue here is layers upon layers of possible interpretations and I absolutely *love* that!

We don’t really know why people end up in Hell - while his treatment of the kid may have had something to do with it, we don’t know what the deciding factor was. 2. I absolutely love how this actually made Sir Pentious a bad person when he he was on Earth. That may sound a little strange, but i see alot of comics saying how Sir Pentious was actually a good person and he was in hell by the wrong judgement. so I love how this one actually showed how much he'd changed its a beautiful piece of work.

I don't think this comic show him as a bad person at all. This just made him a very hurt, very scared, father who didn't want to see his child suffer and die and didn't have the power to make it better.

I don't think he went to Hell *just* because of his neglect of his son. I *do* think that letting his child down did a lot to foster the self-loathing that ultimately festered and turned him bad enough to go there. He didn't think any later misdeeds he went on to commit mattered, because he figured he'd already proven himself irredeemable: the same flawed reasoning that keeps most of the *other* relatable sinners in Hell.

Im gonna be honest, this comic was heart-wrenching. I was in tears by the time this ended. This is.. powerful to say the least and you know, sir pentious as well as he's one of my favorite characters, is a sweet person underneath everything he did before. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone fucks up now and again, but second chances can always be given. In his case, it was. and pentious, I am proud of you for admitting to this, and i am especially proud of you for what you did at the hotel. Godspeed, soldier.
