Jason, I appreciate the fact that you can recognize that Henning's "Bump In The Night Illusion" (which was on one of his national TV Specials) was just as relevant back then when you were young, as much as David Blain was to changing the direction of magic. The illusion is fantastic and my memory of it was watching Jeff Hobson, David Williamson, and Rudy Coby do this in DC at the Magic World Summit Convention back in the late 90's. And by the way... the show you mentioned that Brad Ross did in NJ with this... well, I was a backstage stage (same show you were at) and the reason it was so great was not because of Brad Ross but because Jim Steinmeyer (as well as Jinger Kalin) were consultants to his show. Sure, Brad carried it but it's because of their work (just say'in... I lived it and worked it). This is a wonderful illusion that needs to be brought back to life. Who knows... maybe you need to bring it back to life with your own cool and new twist. If anyone can... it's you man! :)

Thanks for the vote of confidence on bringing it back. I just might, would certainly love to. It’s such a tremendous illusion. That’s very cool you saw Hobson, Williamson and Coby do it in the 90s! Doug was a special talent who had the ability to both do great magic but also build a brilliant team to help bolster his show. We could use a handful more “Doug Hennings” in magic.

Did you know that Siegfried and Roy owend that exact prop and used it in a special German TV Show? There's a video of it on KZbin somewhere.

Lance Burton did a version of Bump in the Night that didn't age well, but at the time, it was the best I've seen since the Pendragons.

Yeah I know the one you’re talking about. It was a unique version for sure. Bumps is such a great illusion. I liked Copperfield’s version with the sheep dogs too.
