This man is magic! Horse hairs everywhere. Never saw anyone else go through bows like he does and that fiddle just seems to float on his arm.

LOVE THIS MAN. I had heard of the "ragin cajun" forever but never heard him. Thanks to the internet I have now.

As good as old videos of Doug Kershaw are, they can't show the energy that this man generates. As a previous comment stated he just looks like he is just enjoying himself. I smile when I remember seeing him at the Troubadour over 30 years ago. What an entertainer.

Greg Dawsey: Sorry for these 3 years of delay. I knew all the information you told me in your last post, i knew it but in a general way do im very grateful for your answer; for me Cajun music is between my favourites, i didnt wanted to offend nobody and if you felt i deeply ask for your pardon, the matter is that i would loved to understand all the meaning of the song with the intention of enjoying it in a real Cjun style or as closed as i could. Thanks and greetings from the sunny Mallorca.

@maldoror1901 Sorry for delay. The accent is purely Cajun (Kay-juhn), or Cadien (Ka-short A-de-uhn), or Acadien. French from Nova Scotia, forcibly removed by English. Most dumped in Louisiana (West Central) isolated and surrounded by other cultures, We absorbed from others, while keeping a lot of our own culture. France is our mother, our Father was the reality our ancestors were dumped in. We are not French, we are Acadien, simialar, yet different. Beutiful yet simple. Tres Bein?

I've always been at odds with Doug's playing and performance. I'm no critic. It's a personal preferance thing. I like Dougs writing a lot and he's an artist to be sure, but his stage presence, voice and playing have always felt a little ...chaotic to me. I have to say, though, I definately appreciate his contribution to the musical landscape out there. He's done a lot to bring that wonderful Cajun flavor to the worlds musical Gumbo.
