I know Doug doesn’t use the past solutions list (unless he specifically remembers it) but it’s getting harder to play Wordle without it, especially the Fearless Fridays with traps. Drain and Brain were past solutions that can be excluded.

On the "other" fearless day this week, I got a five, so was very happy to get a three today. I used a similar thought on my third guess as you did, but since I had ruled out the B on my impulsive second guess, went a different way for the third. (Not that I couldn't have used the B again, I've done that more than I'd probably want to admit.) llama-beach-grain was my chain today.

Nice work! I did not feel that LLAMA was a good choice and went with HAIRY instead. Then I needed a STAIR(step) to get to GRAIN. It could've also been DRAIN or BRAIN for me but I saw GRAIN first.

A nice three-word solve to end the week... Here's how it went... LEARN (Good start, with "A" and "N" in position, "R" out of position.) DRAIN ("R", "A", "I", and "N" in position. Wrong "-RAIN", but productive none-the-less.) GRAIN (Solved it in three!)

Hey Doug, love your lighthearted content here on KZbin. I stop by every day after I solve to watch yours after breakfast (in Europe) and if I'm lucky, by the time I make my coffee I forget the solution so I get to guess along with you. Anyway, I noticed something about your "Fearless Fridays," that you turn on hard mode but... you always seem to play with the hard mode rules every other day of the week as well? Hard mode doesn't let you drop letters that were yellow or green in your subsequent guesses, which is a strategy some people (like me) use to get to a solution faster, which is how you normally play anyway. For example, I always use the starting guesses SALET first and then CHOIR second, even if something lit up on SALET. Or if I had 4/5 green and there are multiple possibilities for what the fifth letter could be, i think of a word to test all those possibilities at once. Just wondering your thoughts on that. OK off to watch your Connections solve!

Not Doug (obviously). He used to be much more apt to ignore yellows or greens in favor of getting more information (FUDGY was a favorite for that purpose), and during the other days of the week, he will do a test word if he finds himself in a bind. If I had to guess, Fearless Fridays have made him consciously or not adjust his play style during the rest of the week making it more closely imitate Fridays.

Another ' not Doug obviously' putting their pennyworth in! I guess by not having hard mode on you have the choice of trying an eval word if the need arises. For some in this forum evals are definitely cheating - others are not so strict. Each and everyone I guess plays by the rules they feel comfortable with themselves. I have learnt a lot by following the videos and comments and have also modified how I play the game at times.

I got it in three. After STARE, I switched up my normal second guess and went for CHOIR to gain more info on the R. That gave me xxAIx with an R in the first or second spot. I quickly assumed it would go second. GRAIN seemed like the best shot at a birdie, so I went for it. Happily it worked out.
