What do you think are the odds that the word will end with ER two days in a row? So, that pretty much rules out a one guess win tomorrow. But four is good today. learn-cheer-miter-piper was my chain today.

This was my scariest solve in several months. With two guesses to go, I wasn't convinced I was going to get it. That's how worried I was. I got stuck in a xIxER hole and had to do some serious consonant testing on my fourth and fifth guesses to narrow things down. STARE, DOILY, FINER, BLIMP, POWER, PIPER. After my third guess, I wasn't sure if was going to be BIKER, HIKER, RIVER, PIPER, VIPER, or WIPER. Huge sigh of relief when I got it, as I wasn't sure if PIKER was a possibility on my final guess. Streak now at 159. Whew. (In hindsight, BLIMP might not have been all that smart of a guess.)

Great solve, Doug! You avoided that bad trap I fell into, where I had far too many options. It took me 6 tries to get it, and I was very close to blowing a 216-day streak. Here's what I did: Wordle 980 6/6* ⬛🟨⬛🟨⬛ LEARN ⬛⬛⬛🟩🟩 COWER (1) ⬛🟩⬛🟩🟩 BITER ⬛🟩⬛🟩🟩 GIVER (2) ⬛🟩⬛🟩🟩 HIKER 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 PIPER (1) I almost did COPER as an eval. word on guess two to check the P, but it felt like a throwaway, and I decided on COWER instead. And then for some reason, the P didn't occur to me again until the end. 🤦‍♀️ I was definitely kicking myself afterward. (2) WordleBot gave me a skill score of 0 on this guess! 😫 I didn't think it was THAT bad. Overall, my WordleBot skill score was a 55, which is probably my worst ever. But this type of word situation makes me panic, and I'm sure I don't play my best when that happens. 😭 OTHER sounds like a nice word for tomorrow. Then again, I thought LEARN would be good, too, and look where that got me! 😜😅 I hope you and Cassandra have a great weekend!

“4” was excellent for today, Doug. Did I ever mention that I hate “er” words? 8 times I lost my streak and 6 of those were “er” words. The most annoying was “parer”. Who says that?
