SQUAB, CHOIR, ETHER. after Choir, which I feel is an underrated second word, E was the only vowel and I knew H pairs with T a lot. Ether just made sense.

I'm pleased with the way this one went. My opener of STARE gave me the T in the second spot and hinted that it *might* end in ER. But it's hard to put a consonant in the first spot in front of a T, other than S. So I figured it opened with a vowel. I first thought of "otter" but fairly quickly deduced that OTHER was a better guess. That made the solution simple. ETHER for the birdie three

I had a phenomenon happen I guess that is what you call it. Never has this happened to me in 2 1/2 yrs of wordle. Draft worth there I had 5 letters but t all in the wrong spot then ether.

I feared this would be a throwaway Thursday word. So, I choose a starting word with two different vowels and then compared. I got it in 3! Resin-there-ether.

A par 4 for me but not without some puzzlement and a long period of thought at guess three where I actually made a stupid mistake by not moving the t. It did crack the case open for me though! MAPLE, HEIST, CHERT, ETHER. I like the 'goose egg' expression so maybe goose would be a good starting word in the future?

@@mtarvon3577 I usually don't go for the quick solve unless I'm confident that SNAIL will be a wasted guess. It can easily backfire when the 3 letters are all yellow. This is especially true when the 3 letters are "T", "E", and "R" (too many possibilities). For example, today there were 51 likely answers after ROUTE, and 41 of those words contained at least one of the letters in SNAIL (S = 7 words, N = 6 words, A = 21 words, I = 10 words, L = 4 words).
