Long time fan here..but to be absolutely honest, I only knew him because he was his father's son! LOL ..but this!? Unbelievable. Astounding. Doug makes that GB 20 sound like $20,000 vintage Super 400 or something! Thanks for postng this

Doug is one of the guitarists that probably I've listened more, I love his albums, also because he used to surround himself with great musicians, so every solo is stunning, every instrument, especially the piano..an other thing important to say is that his way of playing always communicates to me a sort of good feeling, I feel better listening to him..and I also learn something, his phrasing continues to sound in my mind for hours:-) I think his father really taught him every secret about jazz, and this is the perfect example of what the love of a father for his son and vice-versa can produce, this is a beautiful story, really

This is just wonderful. Doug and the whole band are fantastic. It's within (my) living memory but feels like a lost world. Brilliant musicianship and thanks so much for the upload

Hard to believe both Doug and Bernt are gone. Having played in Rainey- Rosengren Quintet many times is great to see them alive and playing well. I miss them, they were one of the best groups in Nord, especially w. Horace Parlan in piano chair.

You can tell this is from the mid 1990s at the latest, for all the smoking indoors for banned not long after the middle of the decade, if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for sharing.

It’s actually mid 80s. It’s from a Spanish TV show called Jazz entre amigos.
