I admire Douglas Murray and have done so for years. I've read much of his work and viewed his oratory more times than I care to count. I don't know if he is indeed tired in this interview, as his haggard appearance, lack of usual enthusiasm and eye-contact might suggest here. It is that, or he perhaps feels the need to cross his arms and legs and revert to introspection in the face of a clumsy and coltish, beautiful, young male interviewer. Whatever the case, this is not the Douglas Murray I've been familiar with for over a decade. I suggest a holiday...

There is NO solution possible to the Arab/Israel situation: because the Arabs follow a religion, whose god and prophet demand the death of all Jews, and where hatred is taught from the outset of every Arab child's so-called 'education'. This was no always the case: but, under Wahabi/Saudi Islam, it is now the case.
@Mark_Dyer17 жыл бұрын
Quite right. Israel: not yet one century old, and yet they have built an economy, and a homeland for Jews. During that same time, what have the surrounding Muslims done? They have wrecked the Lebanon, and spent their ill-gotten gains on weapons to destroy Israel. Very constructive! Typically Islamic! Anything to maintain that sense of Muslim entitlement.
@Mark_Dyer17 жыл бұрын
Excellently expressed Shaun. Islam came out of the Arabian Peninsula: and the process did not involve evangelism, like Christianity; but killing - from its inception! A strong argument may be made, not that Palestinians do not 'belong' where they are: but that their major 'religion' certainly does not.
@Mark_Dyer17 жыл бұрын
What is an 'ethnostate'? Do you mean like, 'Britain for the British'; 'France for the French'? What's to dispute? And, so, presumably, once the 'religion of peace' has a fission bomb, we can look forward to the 'peace' of which you - and it - speak and write.

Great interwiev. You should have asked: Does England want to split the countries of EU now? Is it in Englands interest that EU is destoyd? How can England split the EU?
@dgd947a15fl7 жыл бұрын
Per Ro I think the best case scenario would be for the EU to stop trying to be the United States of Europe and return to it's roots of simply being a military partnership and trade union. If the eurocrats could let go of this practice of having unelected officials writing laws that override laws written by elected leaders of soverign nations, the public sentiment against the EU and the efforts to dismantle it would almost disappear. And the UK would do better staying. Unfortunately, it seems obvious that the EU has no intention of drawing back it's powers over soverign member nations in the forseeable future. And so British voters were left with a choice between letting unelected officials in Brussels continue to trample over their soverignty or leaving the union. And if forced to pick between those two choices, leaving is better.

Murray and other, s like Scruton and Hitchens are on the right track and brave .However although the Islamic issue needs serious attention on a worldwide scale in the UK and probably other western democracies the clash of cultures is unsolvable.There are towns like Bradford ,Luton and areas in Birmingham where no indigenous British [white/Afro/Jewish/hindo etc etc ] live in an integrated society . The young muslim males are totally frustrated and challenged by their culture when they compare the freedom of both sex,s in UK and other western democracies .

The principal problem with the Middle East is the deterministic philosophy, and political ideology, which is called Islam. It teaches a sense of entitlement to the 'best' of allah's creation (i.e. Muslims); and - of course - this is reinforced through their accidental possession of most of the Earth's oil resources. Allah looks after his own. However, "his own" is narrowly defined as only the Saudi 'royal' (what the f**k does that word mean?) family: not 'ordinary' Muslims. Israel may well have been funded by the USA, UK, Germany etc: but who is rich enough to fund the Palestinians?
@tay781D-py1xh2 жыл бұрын
"Israel may well have been funded by the USA, UK, Germany" It's not true. we builded an amazing country ourself. Yes US, Germany and France helped Israel to build a strong army. I'll give them that.
@Mark_Dyer12 жыл бұрын
@@tay781D-py1xh I agree, tay781, that the Israelis have built themselves a wonderful Country: and you had the advantage of also being "a people", with a purpose. Jews know who they are. But at its foundation (according to Alan Dershowitz and others I have read) it took a lot of wealthy American, British, and European Jews (with help from their Governments) to get the State of Israel off the ground through investment. Hard work and graft needs to be paid-for. And Israel - despite its lack of oil - is the only viable and civilised Country in its region: because it is not Islamic.

I support and respect Douglas Murray "bigly" :D but I am not with him on this one. I am no brit so my opinion doesn't matter that much, but as a fellow human being, I have a little say. Douglas is unfortunately too much of a realist, he knows how crap the world is at this point in history (while still infinitely better than any other), while I on the other hand am a bit sillier and much dumber and therefore more idealistic. Imagine a world with no hunger, all manual work is done by machines, health care and education are free and universal, all our efforts pointed towards scientific discovery and exploration, we have always been curious, we have always been explorers, it is in our DNA, the space is no longer the limit. And that is why projects like the EU are so important. Plus leaving is the cowardly thing to do, atypical for the british, but coherent with what we have become as a species. Everybody recognizes there are numerous problems with the EU, everybody recognizes that the refugees coming are going to bring changes and problems, but instead of staying and helping resolve them, ah "fuck it", we are out, what would have happened if their ancestors did the same not so long ago? Oh and btw that perfect world will happen, it is just a matter of time. It might even not be our civilization that achieves it, we might wipe ourselves out, until new civilizations come to be, nature always finds its way. But wouldn't it be awesome if we are the ones that make it, at some distant point we wouldn't live to see, if we, start now, like today... Piece. Resist.

What did Douglas say that cannot be back up by facts and reality? He could have sat there for 3 hours detailing stats and polls and events and facts re politicians etc. to back up his assertions, there's only so much you can get in one interview. The point is that you then investigate his points yourself, politics and current affairs is not about 'boring' or 'exciting' or 'entertaining'...it's about reason and logic... and credence has nothing to do with whether you are bored or not.
