What Does Emmanuel Mean? | Christmas Sunday School Lesson

Emmanuel (sometimes spelled, “Immanuel”) means, “God with us.” And that is exactly who Jesus is! He is God who came to the world to save us from our sins. The name, Jesus, comes from the same name as, “Joshua”, which means, “The Lord saves.” Jesus is God with us, the God who saves. On Christmas, we celebrate the arrival of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who came to the earth to save us from our sins!
