Of course they will, it'd be too obvious and simple to keep a working part. Their plan to bring on the lumbering Frankenstein monster that is Julian Hill as a grotesque pardody of the complete every down TE is nearly at fruition. 🙄

There are too many players on this team that don't take their craft seriously and sign with the Dolphins just to live in South Florida. Teams like the Bills are more successful because they have players that are serious about winning or they are gone, no one signs with them because of the weather or nightlife. McDaniel and Grier need to change the culture here or nothing will ever change. That means bringing in guys who put winning above partying and the sun. Thanks Doug for all your work.

Unfortunately true. I think it's far more true than the myths about being soft or a warm weather team ... we just have good players seeking semi-retirement all the time. Its one reason why Griers habit of giving huge long contracts to vets pains me so

He was given some reps when achane was out and again when Mostert was out, but then towards end of season it was almost all achane, a tiny bit Mostert, no wright. Yet, when wright was being given a few reps a game, he had the highest yards per carry of the running backs. Maybe because they weren’t expecting him to run or didn’t know his routes, but still. Maybe he’s not as good as we were hoping but I still think he’s going to be utilized more, hopefully next season

Question of the day: Will the Dolphins try to void Hill's contract because he voluntarily sat out the fourth quarter of the Jets game, if he asks for a trade? Is that why he's not asking for a trade?
@benfloydy

At 12-5, we'd be the weakest 12-5 team in the history of the NFL. The win/loss record wouldnt change the reality that this team is not built for a Superbowl run especially if they have to go on the road in the AFC.

The reason we went from the best to the worst offense is the o-line and handling difficult personalities. I think Wilkins was a key contributor in handling the larger personalities like Hill. Chub I think will step up this year as handling them better.
@iec7587
@iec7587 15 күн бұрын
We never had near the best oline and dont have the worst. Teams countered MM's scheme and either he didnt know what to do or wouldnt adjust (a scheme tailored around Tua's shortcomings but ran it with other QBs) , the league put a stop to our illegal motion, Tua got hurt again and doesnt play well against good teams, and the inability to run block with any consistency.

Instead we mortgaged the next 2 years. Uncle Phil got fired a year to late. Adam gase and tbomb got fired a year to late. Seems Grier and Michael will get fired a year to late. Grier went T-bomb. We have a lot of underperforming overpaid vets. We have very little youg good talent. We don't have an elite qb. We are in salary cap hell.

My biggest surprise was Malik Washington, my Defensive player goes to Seiler, Offensive player definitely Devon and Jonnu, most disappointing, Tua, Tyreek, Javon, and Poyer, most surprising to me imo is Malik, Dodson, and chop. My MVP is either Campbell, Arron Brewer or Jason Sanders.
@benfloydy
@benfloydy 15 күн бұрын
My biggest surprise was Holland, and not in a good way. 😢 My biggest positive surprise was Chop actually looking like he might be a player after a dubious start. My complete lack of surprise was Tua getting injured and the OL stinking as bad as ... the players Grier thought were good enough to start on the OL.

Campbell was my MVP. Without him turning the clock back, we'd likely have won only 2 or 3 games, no joke.
@bryangonzalez4604
@bryangonzalez4604 15 күн бұрын
@@benfloydy you know Ben after Grier and Mike said they might take the OL more seriously it actually made me happier that we may finally address the OL. Because when Doug said what he said it makes sense because maybe Ross wants them to do it now since he’s an owner that wants to win and since they don’t like Tua getting injured my thoughts is that maybe they either trade for a QB Like JJ McCarthy or they sign a good backup kinda how I wanted them to get Minshew. If they do what we’ve been telling them then maybe we could do well in 25 as long as they address the OL and draft and sign good OL for Tua since now they really care about giving Tua more protection. Since I’m a huge OL guy I would keep guys like Paul, Jackson (when healthy) Brewer, and maybe in round 1 if one of the best guards is available at 13 I would draft one of them and then maybe sign a Vet so they can learn from them like Calais Campbell. You know Ben I’m glad I chose to be a dolphins fan because you know Ik we all are frustrated with the team rn but sometimes you just gotta still root for the team in the good or bad. Sure we sucked this year but we had some bright spots here and there. What worries me is Mike doing play calling, I would hire Doug Pederson since he knows the dolphins well or even Darell Bevel as OC. For DC I would get Salah and Special Team Darren Rizzi. I hope you have a good rest of your day/night Ben and PHINS UP.

Starters on the field matters.. Look at the Chiefs for an extreme example, that was the actual K.C Chiefs Football team on the field Sunday and the Superbowl Champs and frontrunners got beat . down but it was all backups. Same thing in Miami or any other team with too many missing pieces at critical positions like T, G, QB, WR, CB, DE Thats the issue in Miami, not enough actual starter quality players on the field together at the same time. The more complex the scheme the higher % of 1's you need on the field to succeed, there's a reason both 49ers and Miami both flopped this year yet the Lions maintained while losing half their Defense; its almost like they drafted Football Players and have a constant influx of young talent and the drop-off wasn't as steep for them 😮

SOS is not just opp winning % because the schedules are so imbalanced, it is also when you play a team (we played the Rams when they were not good but their win% is good for example, when teams are injured, etc). You have to look at their rankings of when we played them. Power Ranking Guru is a much better measure of SOS than just win%. We had the easiest at the end of the year and bottom third to start the year. It was similar last year as well. Year 5 of the great rebuild. Umm ahh next year ummm we'll do better and the idiot with the baseball cap shouldn't be allowed to speak about what he is going to do. Regarding Hill's actions and player tardiness. It wont be tolerated again????????It shouldnt have been tolerated in the first place.....this isnt HS

Of course the injuries hurt, any team losing their starting QB is going to struggle. The problem was that we had no back-up Thomson is not the man, Snoop with a pre-season could be. but he is a game to game back up not a take over the season back up and very few teams have Don Strock anymore. Hill wasn't a disappointment, there were games during the Tua time on IR where he got very few targets, he can't catch it if its not thrown to him. His display in the game just gone against the Jets, that's a different story, get that man out of this team asap.

I hate the fact though that we say we Should’ve/Would’ve/Could’ve gone places with Tua healthy. We are at the stage where if there is a qb there in the draft they’re going to pull the trigger. For me I’m banging the table for Jaxon Dart in the 3rd. He’s innovative, smart, love the way he throws the ball. Dolphins drafted Tua over Herbert fine whatever I’m over it, just give me Jaxon Dart now. Let him sit and develop, then unfortunately if Tua goes down you can have a reliable backup and a possible piece to build around.

What a difference a real QB can make. Washington ended 2023 season with a 4-13 record and entered 2024 with one of the worst rosters in the NFL. Enter J. Daniels. He put the team on his back and led them to a 12-5 record, will probably win offensive rookie of the year and his improvisational skills were fun to watch and left you in awe. Meanwhile, Fins had a far more superior roster but our QB is Tua. Team sport? Go back and read how J. Daniels changed the pathetic Washington team from a laughingstock to a 12-5 team and a playoff berth. Thats what a good QB can do for a team. Tua simply isnt good enough.

Tua might be about the 10th best qb in the league yet hes paid top 5. He will never be reliable. This team is a disaster

Another dud year for Waddle....and I don't wanna hear the stupid 1000 yard seasons. That's such a low milestone for what I would consider being good/great.

I dont blame Waddle for this, he's the product of being a WR2 (and reciever 3) in a very badly designed offense. His hands actually looked better this year imo, but far fewer looks. He also has a very friendly team contract if he can play half as well as Tyreek.

My year in review is the Dolphins are one of the worst run franchises in all of pro sports.

For a second there I thought you meant they were the worst at running the ball. And I wasnt even going to argue if you said the NFL but I thought all of pro sports was a bit harsh. 😂
