Douk Audio T7 EQ Review - The Value Keeps Coming!

I agree 100% on your review of this product. However, I believe you can make big improvements to the T7 EQ. I opened the Douk Audio T7 EQ and it has 15 swappable op-amps. I only peeked inside. I seen that the op-amps have the state of Texas stamped on them. I believe they are Ti NE5532p op-amps. If so, they could be swapped out with the Burson V5i dual discrete op-amps, and/or the Sparkos SS3602 dual discrete op-amps. Which should make a marked improvement of the audio character of the device.

Hey Dungy. Thanks for watching. Yeah, I agree with you as well. You can upgrade just about anything if you want to spend the extra money.

Thanks! And thank you for watching. I'm semi-retired so don't have a giant budget, but I'm trying to get ahold of different things. I want to try a few all in ones from Denon and Philips later for people with a more modest budget. 👍

Douk-ONE little bear really has been a force in Chi-Fi audio,...I have been enjoying a few of their products recently. And everything at good, cheap prices. Last year I bought a "no-name" 7 band EQ for about $26, it is sold as a headphone amp, it sports RCA and 3.5 mm in/outs and has a volume control. Liked it so much I got another, and it runs on 5V for portable use!

How are the opamps? How much and worth upgrading?

Probably not worth upgrading. But if you do, you might get a better SNR and cleaner sound, but you'll have to desolder the old ones and solder in a riser. I think this EQ is best left alone as a value EQ as is. I like it as is, for what it is.

@@RickRuizAudio This is really good to know. Thank you. Also, FYI.. the T8 pro has upgradable opamps....which you may have known already. I would like to see all new audio equipment come with upgradable op amp sockets. The end user can have a choice in sound character of the device which is always a good thing.
