Hi KZbin Friends! I love to visit wine country everywhere I go! Douro Valley was unique because you are not only tasting traditional wines but tons of port! Going on the boat ride on the the Douro river was also great! Some people think port is too sweet. What do you think? Do you like port?

I was looking into options for a day tour to Douro in June when I came across this video. I already have a list of tour options from Get your guide, which are cheap and have things like photo stops, and a short visit to Amarante or other small towns/villages, along with the 2 wine tastings and boat cruise. But then watching your video, this tour looks relaxed, lovely and fun! Although this option includes much less than most other tours and is more pricey, I'm persuaded to book it after watching your video. Were there any cons with this tour option, and what was the travel to Douro like, cause I keep reading that the roads are very windy with drivers driving very fast, which put together triggers carsickness for some people?

Hi! This tour was really cool. The parts I enjoyed the most were that it was a small tour for the most part. We were in a van for about 8 people which meant the ride out to the valley was not too bad. If we were in a large tour bus with lots of people I think I would have gotten sick. I really liked the river cruise because it was unique for wine country to have that. The stop at the winery was just ok. I liked the property and looking at how everything is made but I didn't love the wine. I did however, love the lunch stop at the house/villa. The place was beautiful and the wine and food were amazing! It was like being a at large private dinner/party. All the vans from their tour came together to eat at the end. There was no shortage of wine and the tour guides (mostly family) were super nice and helpful! I hope this helps! Have a great trip!
