i never heard this song before. thanks for posting. LOVE IT!!!! Ravel was a genius and this interpretation is a classic that deserves more views.

Kick ass!!!!! Ravel threw the viola player a bone in the B theme, beautiful melody. The preformance of the melody was gorgeous, sounded more like a violin than a viola, but had the depth of the larger instrument.

Fantastic! For me, it's a tough choice between Debussy and Ravel -- with this edging out as potentially the greatest quartet written. Also really great to have a wonderful camera operator that knows the piece! Bravo across the board.

Magical sound from a majestic romantic composer- Ravel These guys and gal are a well oiled tantalizing sound phenomenon! They give me the illusion that i am listening to a whole symphony orchestra. And the video makes it sound even better.

Great job! I feel like logging in as someone else to give it another thumbs up! Just subscribed. I don't want to be that guy that tries to prove how smart he is by describing what you just played, but I really feel like you made it live, and I can't think of a better complement for musicians. Really well done.

Everything you touch turns to gold! Superb! EDIT: Just purchased "Encores". I'm addicted to this track! ANOTHER EDIT 😊: It looks like Joel has placed his mute between the A and E strings rather than between D and A? Is this a thing? Am I right? Does it really matter? 😁
@milenapajaro-vandestadt87803 жыл бұрын
It does make a difference! He may have done so to avoid certain wolf tones in that particular piece, or because of the way the mute fits with his string spacing. I’ll try to remember to ask him and get back to you :)

Yeah, I also recognize it from homecoming. In fact, if you search up homecoming theme, it sounds almost as if the score was just copy pasted, I think it’s even in the same key.
@fantasticfungi2 жыл бұрын
Definitely in the same key, and also with plucked strings and same rhythm. Contours of the melody theme starts the same and diverges a little. Ravel: A-E-C-D-E-A-G vs. Spiderman/Giacchinno: A-E-D-E-F-C-A
