Epic tune. Doves are a criminally under-rated band. Honestly I was considering recommending either this or The Outsiders. Great choice Wonderboy!

Thanks again gents, i thought you would both like this one. I was in love with this track from the first listen, it’s a song you can just get lost in. They’re a great band, very underrated, definitely a band you should explore more of. Glad you liked it 😉

Excellent choice wonderboy. I could never see past there goes the fear, for years i would just listen to that until i heard this song last year. It's now on my playlist and through this song made me listen to all their tracks. Great choice 👍

I saw them twice in Atlanta back in the early 00’s. So lucky!

I didn’t discover Doves til their 3rd album “Some Cities “ in 2005. My favorite from that album is “ Black and White Town”. They just put out a new album in 2020 after an 11 year hiatus.

This whole album gives me goosebumps every time. Definitely one to put on and play all the way through. Might just put it on now. Thanks for the reaction and hope you'll check more Doves out.

I used to play this on repeat over a decade ago but not listened for a while. Takes me back. Another I used to be obsessed with was "The Sulphur Man" from their 2nd album I think, which is a bit of a hidden gem IMO. But they're a genius band and def one worth getting into. Had a lot of high charting singles and mainstream popularity in the 00s in the UK too.

Doves are another Manchester band and share some common ground with Elbow, so no surprise that there are some similarities of sound coming out. What a lovely track this is. I haven't heard the Doves for years so it's great to have an opportunity to revisit their music

New album came out a few months ago. And it's GOOD. Hope they tour the States. I've seen them live a couple of times, and would definitely go again, well worth. Let's just hope covid holds things up too long.

My favourite doves tune, seen them live a number of times including at royal Albert hall. Everything they create is awesome. I love their b-sides, check out eleven miles out and 45.

I'm a big fan of this band! Favorite album - Last Broadcast, Favorite song, Last track on the album - Caught by the River. This one soars and tears at your heart at the same time. Some one mentioned they are friends with Elbow. They also did some work with Badly Drawn Boy. He's another artist you need to check out. His debut, Year of Bewilderbeast is great!

Late to the party, but my fave doves song is 'A house' and it's the last one on this album. It sounds like a haunted Johnny Cash song.

Awesome pick! Doves are amazingly underrated! Try Rise, Sea Song, Almost Forgot Myself, Caroussels or Caught by the River!

Doves started off as a dance music group called sub sub and had a few minor hits. Then there studio burnt down and while rebuilding decided to change direction and became the Doves.

Great choice for a Doves song, and i have always really liked the tone of the guitars in this song and have to agree with Greg about the relative lightness as a contrast with the overall sound but hadn't really take that in or noticed it that way till now. There goes the Fear i think is also a must listen for Doves.

Very atmospheric song. It wasn't really my cup of tea, but then again I have pretty odd taste in music. I AM glad I listened to it, and will listen to other Dove songs in the future.

Play the 5 album set straight thru, you won't be sorry. The lastest album is also really great. Also, the Williams Bros side project Black Rivers is a hidden jewel.
