Peace & love & respect but skipping around too fast then saying it's quite straightforward. Yeah then it's easy when you know how. Rewinded twice as many times as Marty.

Very good Jason. Captures the raw sound of the Feelgoods. Doesn't even need to be exactly the same, if one gets the feeling right

"...you don't have to get the pitch exact because it's quite rock 'n' roll..." I would subscribe to you on that alone, but this is a really cool lesson too. Thanks.

I chuckled at your final comment here. Lovely stuff! Crystal clear explanation of how to (attempt, in my case) play this belter of a tune. Just about nailed Milk & Alcohol past day or 2 so I'll have a go at this now. Turns out these lockdowns can be useful for some things! Big thanks for this - incredibly helpful. I may be your latest subscriber. Cheers and good health. PT

Excellent solo Jason and the only one for Down at the Doctors on KZbin. My only gripe is that I do not know all the notes on the fretboard and so I had to work out the string and fret as you said them. Something like B string 3rd fret etc would have been easier for me but maybe it wasn't a problem for others. Thank you very much anyway.
@thejaseguitar5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I usually do give the string and note too, but sometimes forget. However learning the notes is definitely worthwhile so by doing that you've increased your musical knowledge :)

What about the 8 bars of piano?
@martyno41507 жыл бұрын
Jason I have a couple of suggestions that you just can't get guitar tab or lesson. Baby Baby by the Vibrators, who were the backing band for Chris Spedding of Motor Bikin'' fame, another great song. Teenage Depression by Eddie & the Hot Rods or anything from the Live at the Marquee EP (the missing link between Pub Rock and Punk Rock). Hope you can help if you get the time. Is there a way of rewarding you for all the time spent? Thanks so much for all the great lessons.

Thanks Martyn, I'll add then to my list :)

from memory,the "eight bars of piano"didn't happen because the piano player didn't turn up!, according to the NME,Danny Baker (yes,that Danny Baker)would use the phrase"a load of 8 bars of piano"for when something didn't happen,haha.

Andy Edwards - The piano had actually been recorded but eventually erased during the final mix...
@pit2ryan36 жыл бұрын
Andy Edwards - From the book "Lee Brilleaux - Rock'n'Roll Gentleman": "Richard (Gottehrer, the producer), God bless him, he's not the world's greatest piano player, right? He said, "I'm going to put some piano on it, man!" OK... so I shouted out "Eight bars of piano" to give some atmosphere and he was going to dub some piano afterwards. He did dub it on. We mixed it out!"

when Dr Feelgood play this now it sounds nothing like the original... maybe you should give them a guitar lesson :-)
@isadorable98986 жыл бұрын
Maybe because what you call "Dr Feelgood" has nothing to do with the original band with Lee Brilleau and Wilko Johnson. I don't even unhderstand how they get the right to play as Dr Feelgood !!!

I've been waiting since 1979 for this. Only recently did I manage to nail it accurately thanks to this recent playthrough - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYm3oohqbsyUfJY. You break down the notes which makes it so much easier. Many thanks. Just a couple of suggestions from the same era - Ian Dury, Sex and Drugs and Rock'n'Roll or Sweet Gene Vincent. Or even both. I love your channel and your uploads are much appreciated.
