Geez, I remember backing Rose Maddox as the house drummer at the Country Palace in Concord California in 1980. She was a feisty lady. I asked her if she had any special instructions and she just said she would stomp her feet and start. I had to guess if the song was in 3 or a shuffle or straight ahead. Didn’t miss and she complimented me after the show. I felt quite honored as I didn’t know her well. Great memories sharing the stage with David Frizzell and Shelly West. Cheers 🍻 Rose…
