Hello Eeco. Thank you for publishing this video. I've been playing piano for 50 yrs. and still play in a Rock n Roll band. Years ago I played this song and thought it was written by the Rolling Stones. About two years ago, thanks to youtube I discovered Amos Milburn when I was asked to resurrect Down the Road' so I searched for the song and words. I've never been happy with what I'm playing and watched Boppin Steve and Johan Blohm but never got the fingering right. Until now. I have some practicing to do that's for sure. Thanks again.

Spent days learning this two years ago and left high and dry. Now I can play HALF of this piece really well and then I have to stop. Can´t read music and can´t work it out by myself. Two years is a hell of a long ¨weekend¨. You must´ve had a blinder!! I´m still tuned and waiting :)

Great tutorial of one of my favourite pieces! Thanks!! When you published this song in september 2012 you played it in C ?!
@eecorr10 жыл бұрын
rdam50 That's correct..but I sing it now better in G and the original is in Ab but or the video is sounding like he's playing in G. Due to old songs most of them sound transposed, but I thought it would be better for you all to make it in G :)

Eeco where did you started out with boogie and blues? Im following classical music but i want to learn this style.. The only options are Jazz or classical so how did you become a master in this style or any other style? Did you studied jazz or did you a lot of transcriptions from the great players?
@eecorr3 ай бұрын
To answer this question after 7 years 🫣 i learned the basics from my piano teacher but most of it by listening and learning by ear. Also playing with other musicians helps develop your own technique and ear.

Thansk a nice follow up on Blues in G. But on the timeline around 15.00 I had the impression that you sometimes play this little part differently. Not G-BflatCflat-BD-BflatCflat-G, but G-Bflat-AC-G-G??
