honestly seymour duncans feel like they lost their shine since u left, u literally introduced a whole new audience to that brand which is a huge achievement. Not only were u an employee but u also brought a ton of engagement there through ur online prescence. These were fun days and really enjoyable memories from my journey when i started being serious about guitar. I guess this is the long way of saying ''thx a lot keith''

These videos are on another level compared to anyone else involved in content creation around extreme metal. It completely makes sense that you got a degree in multimedia because these videos are so meticulously put together. I could listen to you and Leon shoot the shit about metal and nerdy music stuff all day. Glad to see you're both doing alright.

I have a 7 string set of your Fishman pickups in my Solar Guitar. I wanted a different flavour from the Moderns in my ESP so went with your set and they are magic in that guitar. So articulate and clear. The neck single coil sounds amazing too.

Love to see these videos come out! I've had a km 7 Mark 3 since 2021! It came with the fishermen Keith merrow signature pickups, which were good pickups! But as most people like to customize things to suit their own tastes I've switched to the Lundgren m7s but I've added a few additional tweaks... Wired them so that the neck and bridge positions were humbucker and the middle position is actually the inner and outer coil of the neck and bridge pickup in single coil mode. Along with that I added a 22nf orange cap and tone knob... Which replaced the previous existing voice selector switch. Big shout out to Keith for being such an inspiration!

Nice mod, mixing pickups from the new KM-7 into the pervious model. That blue crimson finish of the Mark III was awesome! I had a Mark III but in the black finish as that was all that was left when they got discontinued. I really enjoyed the neck pickup but the bridge wasn't my kind of thing. The Fishman single coil voicing is really cool but it just sounded too compressed for my taste as far as high gain rhythm tones go. I was thinking of swapping pickups but ended up swapping the whole guitar in the end as it was just too bright sounding for me (most likely the brass block in the back contributing to that). To be fair that's Keith's preference, not a fault of the guitar at all. Hope I'll pickup a new KM someday as they really are beautiful instruments - and I'm sure some darker passive pickups like the M7s play better with a bright sounding guitar than the Fishmans. I suppose you had to swap out your pots for 500K models when putting in passives? That 3-way voicing switch actually could been useful for passives; I've seen a wiring diagram that lets you switch between series/parallel/single coil modes although you do need one of those switches for each pickup.

Utopia Banished… Still in my top 10 albums ever. It seems we are in the same age range, I’m 46, but 1992, I got ahold of Utopia, (actually Scum first, but quickly got the “new” one and that was more my liking at the time!), then Deicide Legion, then Blessed are the Sick anddddd game over! Haha.

Nice surprise to see this come up! I’ve said it before but DTTM was (is?) my favorite KZbin series. Mainly because it doesn’t feel like a “KZbin series” at all, it’s really just feels like a good hang out session talking shit about guitars and metal. Hope you guys keep it up even if it’s just here and there.

Criminally underviewed imho. As with most of his content. Not sure why. He is dead on with the Lundgren pickups. These are AMAZING. There is a reason Meshuggah use them.

Love the history discussion. Sounds like a very interesting job for a guitar enthusiast to work for SD. And you've ended up with that enviable magic box of pickups! Personally I'd love to hear some demos of the Schecter USA pickups as not that many people seem to know they make their own. Perhaps a little demo of that beautiful gold top KM-6? I saw it on Reverb a while back but a USA Schecter is a little rich for my wallet atm. One day though! I did buy a Schecter USA Colossus bridge pickup for my Reaper-6. They seem to have a very angry edge to them...I believe John Browne even said they just sound pissed off. Like you say...Angus Young's tone on crack would be ideal for modern metal. Doesn't surprise me that my own favourite modern metal tone for practicing at home is a high output passive pickup into a plugin that is a classic British rock amp (Plexi) on steroids - something like Neural's Rabea or Nameless. Although I do love using coil splits for that extra spankiness. But people seem to say those Lundgren M7s are really percussive anyway as humbuckers so I guess you have that covered! Also strongly agree that pickups do make an important difference...especially if you're after a very specific sound. Pickups are also a great way to customise aesthetics. Guitarmory have some interesting stuff going on. They are now doing LED pickups which have clear plastic bobbins that light up inside. Never seen anything like that before so think I will grab a set to go in an all white guitar where they will really pop.

Pretty sure the last songs were missing due to the tape length. Heaviest band before that Id listened to was Guns N Roses. Mind blowing and still listen to the crazy shit today and not much else
