Indigenous farming, whether it be multi crop agriculture, agroforestry, etc. ALWAYS had more yield than, and was more sustainable than, the "conventional" settler-colonial homogenous method reliant on the Haber method. This is one of the most exciting developments I have seen in my life.

These are promising signs for Indian Agriculture, where inevitable use of chemical fertilizers leading to drastic changes in fertility of lands and It is so inspiring for many farmers who cannot afford higher input costs associated with fertilizers and organic manure, also the self reliance of a farmer in ZBNF who is not only benefitted from costs but also added sustainability of Soil Fertility (land). One cannot win over nature by forcing it, One can win it by working with the principles of nature!

@people of Andhra Pradesh I've started natural farming myself. Zbnf and its practices are truly god given gifts for humans to prolong our self destructive run. But Farming department in Andhra is mostly just giving moral support to my practices but there are helpless to give natural farming schemes which are available through out the country

From sustainability point of view, what proportion of total cropped area can be brought under ZBNF in AP alone. Some statistics will benefit everyone. This study doesn't seem to be so useful for farmers planning their farming strategy. Why are the result so inconsistent? ZBNF is better than organic farming in some areas, but worse in other areas? It doesn't help in all crops. Take it with pinch of salt. Srilanka trying Chemical free farming and suffered heavily. Even zbnf failed and inventor named it with some other fancy name. There are crops that may work with natural farming: Rice, Maise, Sorghum,Chickpea. Eg. You cant grow cauliflower in rainy with natural farming but you can do it in winter. But you wont get any profitable income.

What about pest and fungus attack?. And what is zero in zbnf, farmers will require labour also requirement of cowdung will be significantly higher, all such things require money so what is zero. And farmers dont spray pesticide for fun, insect and fungus do attack on plants. You should provide clear result of the study and methodology adopted

This is literally the same as natural farming or what the west calls organic farming no different. The idea that organic farms buy the manure and use vermicompost is not true, they use their own animal manure just like what you are saying....same thing different labels, original farming without the industrial products.
