Hallo, I am so close, but cant find the 7zSe folder in User Temp neither in Windows temp...wenn using 7zip I can edit the platform.ini and save it but it wont implement in the archive...what am I doing wrong?! Do you have any advice?

Thanks it worked. In my case I found the folder in windows temp folder.. and there was only one platform file... And they replaced bios check criteria with flag=3 instead of flag=2. 😊

This worked for me! Thank you! I have Acer A515-51G laptop. I updated BIOS to latest version and worked well for a few days. Then WiFi adapter stopped functioning properly. Tried many windows 11 network resets and commands nothing worked. Now downgrading one version back the WiFi works! In my case I only had one "platform" file to edit. Thanks again! :D

I just did this, but the bios extracted the files to windows\temp not users\appdata\local\temp. If you can't find the location of the files, you can check task manager and under details you can find the process and right click open file location

There are chances that this folder is made on either User's temp or Windows's temp. To find this faster, hold 'Ctrl' and press 'R' Now check the User's folder by typing '%temp%' and press enter. There it should be. If not, then again open 'Run' by holding 'Ctrl' and pressing 'R' & then type 'temp' and press enter. It should be there. Thanks!

If it doesn't you can simply extract the bios with 7zip(*ignore any warnings 7zip may give) and you are good to go

When battery is plugged into motherboard, the system runs incredibly slow, like 10 seconds just to open explorer, and when unplugged from AC power, it shuts down immediately as though there was no battery. It also shows only 43% battery and will not charge any more than that. When the battery is unplugged from motherboard the system is fast and responsive. I have tried replacing with a brand new battery and experience the same issues. I have also tried multiple BIOS versions, and uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. Issue reproduces on Ubuntu also.

Hi, I want to downgrade BIOS on Acer Swift 3 (SF314-42) from version 1.10 to 1.09, because I noticed that my laptop running something about 20 seconds, before upgrade I think it was starting faster. I have one partition with Linux Mint and one with Windows, I'm using GRUB as boot loader. What do you think, is there a possibility that BIOS upgrade could make my laptop running slower? Mine says "Error 'The version of ROM file is not newer than that of BIOS' while upgrading BIOS" even if it was a newer version of the Bios from the website of Acer. So I did your process but inside the .ini I look for all the "flag=1" and "flag=2" and I put absolutely everything with "flag=" in 0 like this: flag=0 and it works neat!! Thanks for your video. I had the logo of the goberment at the start of the laptop too and now it is gone ! :D My laptop is a touch screen Acer r3-431t :=) Merci!
