Exactly, it's not about the destination, it's about the journey. And what a cool idea this was. Everyone has their own hobby to remove the stress in their live, and for you it's riding your motorcycle and I don't blame you. As awesome as your adventures in the US and beyond are, there's also nothing wrong with exploring what your own neck of the woods has to offer. And as shown in this video, the sights sure are stunning

Very fun video. Thanks for sharing. I'm a conductor on a miniature railroad in New Jersey, and what you say about riding your motorcycle reminds me of when I spend time around trains... Something that puts you in the moment, forgetting everything but the present... Sometimes I need reminding of how helpful that is.

AMEN! Never race the gates! The reason so many Brightline crashes happen in Florida is because the cars underestimate the train. Trains are just a longer form of tanks and like you said, they take a long time to stop. Train drivers have to deal with so much whether it be witnessing a car in front of them or a jumper, you need to be strong mentally for the job and I have high respect for them.

Mike, with this video you made me feel half my age (errr, about your current age, I think). I spent a day around Boston Bar and North Bend with my good Canadian friend Kevin way back in 1989, photographing freight trains from both CN and CP. The Anderson Creek Trestle was one of my favourite spots and we managed to get two freights running parallel on opposite sides of the Fraser. We got there by car but back then I rode a motorcycle here in Australia (a Honda 750 4 cylinder touring machine). While I no longer ride (although still have a motorcycle endorsement on my license), I feel the same euphoria as you when on the open road touring my own country. I used to do a lot of motorcading of trains out of Melbourne but not so much now as, unfortunately, there are nuts out there that don't have the same regard for safety (both road and near the railway) as you and me. I'm really glad you made those safety comments about proximity to the rail line in your comments. Quite by coincidence the previous KZbin Clip I watched to this was Comeng998's coverage of a steam train trip from Melbourne to Warrnambool and return Saturday last (29th October). The weather was atrocious most of the day but Adrian (Comeng's real first name) captured the atmosphere really well. I recommend you view it sometime soon if you can spare the time. Simply type in KZbin Comeng998 and select the video from the list. Goes for about 34-35mins. Looking forward to YOUR next week's offering. Cheers from Michael in Melbourne.🙂

I love trains and have done lots of "chases" of freight trains west of Calgary on my motorbike. However, the ride from Calgary to Field, BC takes just over 2 hours and the trains take 6-12 hours. It is fun to watch them go through the spiral tunnels and there are other epic viewing spots, including Morant's curve. Another great video Michael.

"Train chasing" was a staple of my childhood. We used a car, not a motorcycle--most of the time it was my dad (the train enthusiast) and several of his children. We rarely went train chasing in the city, though. Most of the time it was Cajon Pass, near San Bernardino, CA. I spawned another train enthusiast, and it always made me happy when the kiddo could go train chasing with his grandfather. eta: We only chased freight trains. It made victory inevitable.

Thanks for another interesting video. Train chasing is a part of the rail fan experiences. Just like you experienced if you are chasing a passenger train and they get a clear track and you get stuck in traffic you will lose the chase. But we did get to see some interesting scenery from your motor cycle. By the way I had an interesting train chase by chance back in the 1970 ‘s. Me and a friend were driving between Lancaster, Pa and Harrisburg on a road that paralleled the Amtrak line to Harrisburg for several miles. By chance at the time there was a train to St. Louis that came by us as we were driving west. The speed limit on the highway at the time was 65 MPH but the train pulled by the legendary GG-1 was going faster than 65. There was not much traffic at the time so I tried to pace the train while my friend shot a picture of it through the front window. I was able to keep up with the train for a while but every time I got about even with the engine the train would speed up. Well I had to give up and let the train win and when I looked down at my speedometer we were going 85 MPH. So the train must have been doing 90 or more Mph. Lucky for me there was light traffic and no police on patrol so we got our picture and no speeding ticket. Keep those interesting video of yours coming.

Bringing up some new information about the sponsor of the video. Established Titles is currently being looked into by many KZbinrs that have been sponsored by them as their business practices are being questioned. As most know they sell souvineer plots of land and claim to keep a record so you can claim a Lord/Lady title. Legaly the title isn't real though enough people say that. The biggest thing is that they claim to donate some of the money to charities to help plant trees around the world. The gag Title part I'm fine with and is an interesting incentive in my opinion though as the company doesn't publish any information on how much they donate to the organisations they do, it's being questioned if they even do donate anything. Another thing that hurts Established Titles is they fall under a company also known for things like Deal Dash. I don't know if this comment will ever be read though I hope it helps give insight to anyone that might see it before purchasing a title, as I regetably did.

I read one comment from a sub that was taken in by this - when I warned him he had wasted his money he actually got angry and abusive with me! The scam has finally been exposed by many KZbinrs in the past few days
@luvdocumentary2 жыл бұрын
The company was very shady so I don't blame the creator if they fooled some creators. However, as an experienced traveler, it should have raised a red flag when one of the talking points was that you could use the title in official documents. As a former pilot, I find the motorcycle great because it's "like flying on the ground. Turning, banking, climbing and descending..." On the upside, if something goes wrong, you can pull over and get off. On the downside, motorcycles have more things to maybe hit than an airplane does. Remembering the Three Great Rules Of Motorcycling: 1. Don't hit anything, 2. Don't let anything hit you, and 3. Don't fall off.

Just invested in 5 Sq Ft @ Established Titles somewhere around your plot, for my wife's Christmas gift. She is Scott Irish so a distant connection... Ladyship Sheryl and am hoping she likes her plot there. We now have a new destination! We also enjoy train travel and have enjoyed your adventures. Cheers!

Lady Sheryl will love it, I’m sure! Well done, (Lord?) Martin (I’m assuming?)!

Take a close look at reviews on KZbin and Google. You've wasted your money

@@stompieandsuzie Exactly. It’s a scam and I feel extremely disappointed that Michael is marketing a scam.

@@MinutesWithMates They've advertised on another KZbin channel recently (Baggage Claim) and seeing comments posted on these channels I'm sad at the number of people wasting their money on this

@@stompieandsuzie Really... Such a Debbie Downer and what do you care..?!?! it is just a cheap fun gift and I am sure you waste plenty of cash on useless items. Happy Travels.. Cheers!

Since you did southern to northern train stations across America, you should try the most western to the most eastern train station

I'm not a regular on the channel but appreciate the epic videos. I came here after seing the sponsor to see if this host on YT has his subs best interests in mind?

Good video. I assume you were using the tsimobile site to track the train. On the other hand, having travelled on the Canadian I know the cell service is iffy along that route.

I'm curious how self conscious you feel while filming. I thought you handled that situation with the person questioning why you were filming the gate quite well, offering to show him what you were filming.

Let's try this again lol. Thumbs up for more bike and day in the life videos haha. I thought you re-uploaded to remove the fenced in train stop but glad it was just technical. I keep rewatching your cranberry episode, found it so relaxing, probably not for you though haha.
