"We aren't trying to reinvent the wheel. We're just trying to make a really nice one." You did. Well done, Riley. Rest easy. You will be missed terribly.

RIP, Riley. “It’s not about showing off. It’s about writing a strong song”. If bands take note of one thing, it should be that. Wise words for a metal community where the de rigueur is cramming as much technical shit in as possible regardless of what it does for the song. Power Trip was a distinct up and coming band. I’m going to miss them terribly. I haven’t felt like that about a band for nearly 20 years.

Couldn’t agree more dude. Riley was one in a million and when I woke up this morning and my wife showed me the news I was so gutted. Power Trip were a band that epitomised the Thrash and Metal ethos along with Hardcore really! I might have only met Riley briefly but I’m glad I got to see his wonderful spirit in person. Be safe out there man and be kind to everyone. This is a truly sad day 😔

Power Trip were starting to get noticed. It's still hard coming to terms with the fact that we're never going to get new Power Trip. Thankfully they graced with world with 2 masterpiece records. But they were just getting started. They had so much more to give. They had a long career ahead of them. It's a dark day for metal/music. It's a tragedy. No musicianship's death has affected like this one. It hurts. It's a tragedy that it has ended this way. 34 years old. Such a shame. The world has lost both a great front man and human being. Heart goes out to family, friends, and the entire Power Trip family. Could only imagine their pain and shock of it all. Rest in Power Riley Gale.

For all we know right now, they may yet decide to soldier on and pull an AC/DC. Gotta find the right person and its gonna be super hard, but let's not forget that there 4 other super talented dudes in this band,and I'd be happy to see them go on. Time will tell
@JTCS-re7ge4 жыл бұрын
@@griselame if they want a sound alike, they can call the cat from Lowest Creature. But my point is that its never going to be the same... whether they continue under Power Trip or not. Riley is an integral part to Power Trip, vocally and lyrically. Regardless of what Blake, Ulsh, Whetzel and Nick decide to do going forward im going to support them. It's just incredibly sad. Those 5 made something special together.

I totally get what you mean man! I love the fact that its such a solid sound for the band that they don't need the kind of smoke and mirrors of technical dazzling you know? The songs speak for themselves at the end of the day right? I'm so excited for a new album as well. Thanks so much for checking out the video and I hope that you enjoyed it. Some of the best and most influential metal albums have been played with a single pedal. Rigor Mortis albums, Scum and FETO by Napalm Death, my favorite Bastar Priest (Swedish death metal) Slayer Show no mercy, Iron Maiden... Let everyone make their own decision! :)

Can't wait to see these guys at Roskilde. Just came home from Copenhell last week and I'm kinda shocked that they didn't take a swing at bringing them in. Edit: I also absolutely, unequivocally agree with Riley that "less is more" is a mantra that soooooo much of the thrash being put out today needs to get tattoo'd on their foreheads. The Punk/hardcore strain of the thrash genome is all but gone in 95% of the bands playing right now, at I think it has resulted in the genre becoming so damn predictable and formulaic. Write shorter songs, put out shorter albums, you don't have to have guitar solos, and you don't need to sound like Slayer, Metallica, Exodus or Testament.
@TheMetalTris5 жыл бұрын
I have to say I am very much with you! Testament, Exodus, Slayer and Metallica all sound like themselves, we don't need MORE bands coming out and sounding like them you know? That's what I think is unique about PT's sound you know? They're such a killer, solid Metal band. Thanks so much for checking out the video and I hope that you enjoyed it my friend!

I think double bass isn't necessary . Single pedal is pure energy and Power Trip's drummer uses his single pedal vert well. Many bands use double bass but they loose all the energy .
