Elegant intelligent design, easy to set up, and easy to stash in the closet, under the workbench, etc. I might increase the distance of the element from the plastic to give more room for it to sag-for thicker plastics, of course. Headed to the hardware store tomorrow :)

Thank you! You helped a lot. Your design is very clever and simple to build. That makes it one of the best.

These lifting arms will keep the left side facing up. They cannot be parallel and equal lengths at the same time, there should be a shape of an ....X.... (when open), turns to a ....//.... (when flipped), so there is a (4 bar) mechanism must be carefully designed, in order to rotate and flip the left side upside down as it looks at the end of the video.

I love the design, what did you use for a heating element?
@seafax9 жыл бұрын
Gerard LaVallee Sorry I missed your question earlier... the heating element is is out of an oven grill... and the thermostat is from the oven itself.

+Gerard LaVallee You could also get one or more old toasters from a second hand store and use that wire. cheers

not a perfect design since it's heated from the bottom plastic is sagging towards the heat.
@seafax8 жыл бұрын
Yes. But on the plus side there's nothing blocking your view of the sag and no tricky manouvering to do to pick it up and transfer it from the heater to the buck.
@tomykas18 жыл бұрын
but coming from the side over the object you wanna make a mold of might be a slight problem, it's much better to come right from the top, just my thought
@seafax8 жыл бұрын
I do see your point but it's been in use for 4 years so it can't be that much trouble to operate can it.
