Downloading SRTM DEM data using QGIS

Great tutorial, sir! One question I have is in what resolution will the downloaded SRTM data be? I need some pretty high resolution data for my project as I will be using the hgt files to create a 3d render of that part of the world in a simulator.

@GEODelta Labs: Great Video, thanks for sharing your knowledge! I was wondering though why the osm map is distorted or compressed as soon as the coordinate reference system is 'converted' from 3857 to 4326? That way the map doesn't correspond anymore with the equivalent map you can find on Google Maps. Any ideas?

​@@brendanpeck6121 I fixed mine by changing the coordinates system. You can change it by clicking in the right bottom corner between visualize and a comment icon, it's written EPSG and a number. To not get the 'handshake ssl' error you need to change the coordinate system that you have to ESPG : 4326. I hope it works for you as well!
