I lost my brother to a cocaine laced with fentanyl overdose this past spring. This song reminds me of him a great deal, he was a country music fan and would have hated this song. The intro has a country feel to it and the subject matter is very poignant. His birthday was yesterday, love you Mike, see you on the other side.

@@ChickenJoe-tq6xd yeah they haven't announced a sideshow for just PanterA. But I've been pretty much clean this last year and it's been sick. I seen Guttermouth, The Exploited and a shit load of local punk bands and I forgot going to shows is honestly better than most drugs. And this year I've got Knotfest sorted then Guttermouth are coming back fucken Alice Cooper is coming and I will go cause I remember his songs from my childhood but yeah this year is gonna be sick for concert's in Australia.🤘😈🦘🇦🇺

@The Ninth Heart What am I talking about? Anyway , I think that.."A Bustle in Your Hedgerow" was prolly Phils best "Post Pantera". It explored a lot of elements from the likes of jazz "Lies, I don't know what they mean ,but..." To blues " Learn from this mistake".. And " Where I'm going". Great tracks , even though they don't really fit Phil's style and range.

I can %100 relate to Phil in these Lyrics!! Music (Metal) has been the #1 benefactor in my life , in dealing with Depression / P.T.S.D....ect, it's a VERY REAL struggle.. Lost my Sister to Suicide, she lost her Battle in 2016, I was on borrowed time at one point myself, with the help of Metal & Guitar, I've found a proper Balance that doesn't leave me with hangovers! I live for this!!

To Stone the Crow is: To lash out at the evidence of your deathly state. To say "stone the crow!" is to say, “I am so dead and all that’s left to do is fight to keep the buzzards from eating my flesh”. But to stone the crow is pointless because a crow only attacks you if you are dead. (And you can’t literally throw stones at it if you’re dead.) If you're not planning on dying anytime soon, why worry about what's gonna happen to your body after you're done with it? It’s like panicking about the future and directing your anger about your misfortune and imminent death out towards something as harmless as a bird just because it reminds you of your awful predicament. The crow is only guilty of being hungry and opportunistic, it's not what's gonna kill you and it is not death itself. We should never stone the proverbial crow, even if we are practically dead already, have died before, or are dead inside. In other words, “Don’t trip on small things when you have bigger fish to fry”. Or maybe, “Don’t curse your fate or it’ll curse you.”

A bout of deep depression. Can't seem to move it forward. My lying eyes lie awake. Not sure what I am after. I never died before. Can't live what happened yesterday. I never stoned the crow, no. Flip through endless stories. A life of hand-written pain. No one can share this hurt that is mine, mine, mine. I never died before. Can't be what happened yesterday. I shouldn't stone the crow, no. Ride on! Same old city, same old pain. No matter how I try, No matter what I say, I'm blamed, I'm shamed, I'm judged unfairly. So now I've died before. It feels as bad as yesterday. I never stoned the crow, no. You too have died before. It's more than less of yesterday. I never stoned the crow, stoned the crow, no, no.

@@curtj52 This is probably the 4th or 5th best song on the album mate. I can see it being the best, but it has different vibe than most of the album. Lifer, Temptations Wings, Eyes of the South, Rehab, Pillars of Eternity, shit every song on that album is killer. The lowest score i'd give a song on NOLA is maybe a 7/10 but most of the songs are 9/10 straight up. I cant believe how well that album came out

That's the beauty of metal. In the 90's Behemoth learned from Pantera, and now Scour is learning from Behemoth. Phil is doing a great job in Death metal and has proven that he doesn't need to catch up with the Phil of the Groove metal gold days
