I have used Big Jon riggers a lot. You say not going to use them everyday, I will argue that. I am a fresh, coldwater fisherman in the Pacific Northwest. I use a rigger to keep my lures & baits consistently in the strike zone for trout, salmon, kokanee, walleye, etc. I will use one before I reach for a dropper weight.

*We tried this out finally yesterday and it worked awesome! **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s we put it on our 16 foot aluminum boat and trolled with it. We didn’t catch anything but it was still fun and worked awesome! Can’t wait to use this baby again and hopefully reel in a big ole fish! Very easy to install and set up.*

Did you guys stop using the electric Cannon Downriggers for a reason? In this video your using the manual seahorse downriggers.

Ive used both. I like the Sea Horse manual units as well as the Cannon electrics. Both have pros and cons. - Capt Mike

Having used both I would agree with the sentiment that both have their pros and cons. I personally opt for manual now for their simplicity and longevity, also I think it's smart for presenters to use what the majority of their viewers are likely to be using.
