Downs link Shoreham to Guildford 2019

I did Shoreham to Rudgwick and back again yesterday, don't know how far that was but I do know I was exhausted at the end. Didn't think much of the coarse gravel, and dear god it was bumpy in places. Glad I did it though.

Well done, furthest i have done is Shoreham to Christ's hospital, It's quite an achievement to do the whole route, It's not easy.

9:40 is exactly why i do this route to Shoreham and back in the middle of the night and very early morning. This path is far to busy for regular day time serious cycling.

@MoralOrbit-ce2cp it is and I love it! Leave Guildford at 3am get to Shoreham around 6am and back for breakfast around 9.30am, that's my limit after that I'm DONE!

@@sallyschildcare Sounds interesting. Is it tiring going to Shoreham and back again? Furthest I’ve been with a return journey is Henfield and other times got the train back from Shoreham/Brighton.

If we follow the route from St Marthas hill will we eventually join this trail if heading towards Brighton?

No idea to be honest, probably best to check on google maps, I don't know where St Marthas hill is. It's a lovely ride when you get on the downs link though.

St Marthas hill is the proper start/finish but it’s not an easy route at that point

Don't know why they added that bit to St Marthers hill in? There's no way the original train route went up there!

We did it in approx 4 hours but did stop off at Stans bike shack for breakfast, enjoy your ride

We did it last Sunday. 3hrs 40mins to Shoreham and 3hrs back. It's a great ride and we would do it again 👍👍

6hrs 30 there and back....nearly killed me!
