Downsizing to a pop up camper

We sold our 34foot Windjammer Travel Trailer and bought a 2009 Jayco pop up camper. The Forest River was just too big and was no longer serving us. When we sold our house we lived in the RV for 4 months while we transitioned and the fact that it had two rooms really sold us for living full time.
Once we got settled at our new home it just wasn't needed and was so much work to take out for short or spontaneous camping trips. We spent a season renting it out on AirBnB which was a fun experience.
Ultimately, I wanted something that I was capable of taking out on my own and that we could load up and go quickly. We can set this up in just about 15 minutes! I really like that we were able to downsize some of what we were taking with us since we don't have an oven or microwave now we are keeping it much more simple and minimal.

Started Pop-up camping in 1968 with my parents and sibling used a Coleman. It was Great fun. Still, after ALL this time I'm amazed at how Little they have changed. Always take WARM gear and wet weather gear and prepare for good times.

We also have a Jayco. I also need a step ladder dedicated for the pop up, because I'm also short. I'm remaking our curtains this week. I totally removed the.buncken curtains. We don't need them, never used them in the 3 seasons we have camped in the pop up. One cord broke on a window curtain, as well as some clips, so I'm just replacing the window curtains and using tiebacks. That's a big switch from a 34ft rig to a pop up! But, I can understand your reasons for it. I've been reading that you can also use straight Hydrogen peroxide for mildew.

Thanks for the view and the suggestion with peroxide. I'll give that a try.

I have a 2008 Fleetwood pop-up. I have reflective insulation cut to fit walls, not just the windows. Pop-up gismos help in the hot weather. A layer of bubble wrap under the pop-up gismos will help year-round. I hope you have a great time.

I wanted to get one of these, then watched a video about 20 ways you can break your pop up camper. After watching that, I changed my mind about getting one. Was so bummed but thinking a hard RV will be better but not a huge size.

You can break a regular camper just as much too. You just have to learn about the do's and don'ts

I will be following along. I am shopping around for a pop up myself. Had one years ago and wish I never sold it. Be sure to seal that roof or it will lead to other problems. Good luck. just subscribed
