Looking good. Regarding your monorail, have seen some city’s where the monorail will act all pass thur a building. That might be a fun and unusual moc for your city. For your tram, power up and a light sensor will work great in your application.

It’s looking great! Perhaps you could build the downtown airport shuttle station along the track between the hospital and the town square. The station could then have stairs connecting to a “downtown transit center” in the large green space between the square and the hospital, maybe with a few bus stops and some trees. That would fill in the gap between the square and the hospital with something relatively short, so you don’t block the view of the hospital facade.

The monorail should be the high-speed link between the city zones. The tram should be on ground level stopping at a few more places within the "Downtown" area. Brickcross station could move into a more central area, and combine both a monorail and tram interchange station...... it could also have stairs going underground to a "Mainline" train station.

The downtown rebuild is looking great! Maybe you could modify the hospital and build the monorail station into the side of the building? That way the hospital has direct access, and you can make a staircase to go down to street level. That way it also doesn't crowd the main area in front of the town hall. I know you said you only want the station to be on the one side of the monorail, but I think you could make it work! Regardless though, I'm sure you'll come up with a good solution. I get a lot of inspiration from you and your city, you're an excellent builder!

Looks great so far! 👍 I put a monorail station in a similar place on my layout that you are thinking about. I had the steps start on the sidewalk to go up two flights then to a small platform. As long as you don’t make it too big, it will be fine. I look forward to seeing your solution! 😃

Downtown monorail station could be multi-layer with observation decks and kiosks on the different levels, with the top level only being the rail loading platform.

I think it's looking great nice see a change in direction of tram and monorail. I've been increasing the height of my space mono rail and have increased from the bottom of the piler which makes it look more chunky and solid. Happy New year looking forward to the bricking news 🎉

Under the monorail next to the Townhall and Palace Cinema could be a good spot for a bus/coach station connecting to your mono rail system and a redesign of the old square could help the city feel new even if you go in a different direction with it.

Great update Alex 👍 The visual lines look great for the Avengers Tower and Monorail route. As the monorail is fairly high, you could have elevator access only at each end of the station platform to keep it slim.

Loving the progress on the city. Idea for the airport shuttle bridge. Elevate the legs of the arches so you can see the curve at the top vice the black columns. Downtown plaza stop would look cool as a MOC. Underground parking garage for the airport?

Looking great so far! Have you thought about taking a brick built terraced approach to the incline (between downtown and the airport), that way instead of a steep drop you could have little walk ways and stairs that descend down and create a cool pedestrian walkway between the Modulars you place there. The walkway could go all the way up to the museum/botanical garden area. Anyways, have a Happy New Year!

Think a station on the side of the hospital would be best, as it'll look integrated to hospital as a direct access but also it'll save making the square in front of the town hall look too cluttered
@zoltannagy53253 күн бұрын
Hi! Yes, the downtown must have a station. I would build a straight stair maybe with a little platform in half way, and just a very simpe station with a plain skylight roof, so it won't disturbe the view of the downtown.
@stevenbazinet34042 күн бұрын
Alex, you could still do a monorail station in the downtown area, it would a be a small station (which I think would make it more appealing) in the empty area between the Hospital and the town hall.

I like the idea of removing the sloped section between the downtown area and the airport and having an elevation step instead. But how about having that step between the downtown expansion (that might contain the botanical garden) and the airport instead of having it between the two parts of downtown? That way you could have much more flexibility in downtown design and potential future changes and would have a boundary to the airport (the elevation step). I think the overall look of the city would benefit from having a bigger connected downtown with a clearly separated airport (as opposed to a separate downtown section in front of the airport). Just an idea that might lead to something you like, though. Go for the design you like the most. We want to see the city you like here. That's why we're watching. :-) Also, I could see the airport shuttle station being integrated into Avangers Tower (where the tracks are currently going over to the transparent tram station roof) with a direct tram connection in the same buildiung, if you'll ever want to put something else on the lot the airport shuttle station currently ocupies.

This is looking really good. I can't wait to see it completed. If you're going to be redoing the slope section, what if you made it not a slope at all. An above section and a below section with a large staircase (and or elevator - working or not) for people to move throughout.
@DelsynsBrickBuildsКүн бұрын
The road would be the only section that is on the slope.

The airport shuttle stop ... connect it to the 2nd floor of the hospital. That'll give you a "midway" stop.

Either you make a realistic city or an unrealistic city. It would appear this is an unrealistic city, so anything goes. Any suggestions that are made you will not embrace. The airport building is larger than the run way. The mono rail and the rail tram kinda conflict each other. Large modulars right next to a cliff with no fence. I love your channel, your moc designs are pretty darn great. Perhaps dividing the areas into eras with 80’s, industry/harbor, modulars and customs. Otherwise it will always be hodgepodge. The monorail would be an awesome subway under the city with a lot of stations. Your trains can connect all your eras. Keep up the grind!

Wow it’s looking great the end of an era of 9 V powered Lego trains I’m wondering if there are any plans to convert any other trains to battery operated especially the red passenger train or the Amtrak Metro liner train to run on the lower loop to bring people to the underground train station under the mountain at the amusement park end of the layout as for the airport shuttle I think an additional station in downtown would be an excellent idea

The city is looking great. I am planning to get started on my pet shop modular soon, and then the next project is the Avengers Tower for me as that's my big 2025 project plus hopefully a lego store trip since after January 1st I will only be 701 points away from a $400 order in vip points. My plan for those points? Tied between a batman set or maybe diagon Alley for only $80.

I think the tram station would look good in the green area between the city hall and the hospital. Putting it in front of the city hall would block the view of city hall.

I'm trying to think of a story reason why a monorail station would be at the hospital. I can't think of one, but it would be cool.
@charliernКүн бұрын
Hey Alex. It seems like you should just move the existing downtown shuttle station right next to the hospital and make room for another skyscraper along the back. Or there will be too many stations in proximity. Either way, I think putting a station in front of the town hall would ruin the view and it should be closer to the hospital
@marnebricks25242 күн бұрын
I would make a trainstation at the hospital where you could go strigth into the hospital or down a stair to the sidewalk

Is it possible to build the station off the side of the hospital? And have it straddle the train track or connected by a foot bridge?
@SkyKid0022 күн бұрын
Idk if this is something youd want to do or not but couldnt you just flip which side of the monorail cars has the hinge piece to make it open the other way? If it wouldnt look too weird you could have one car open to one side and the other car open to the other side. Then it doesnt matter which side the station is on. That would just determine which door they use. Idk

Guessing that idea for elevated train tracks above the streets was a no go? Shame. How about making the lot next to the hospital a multi story garage? Would allow more cars to be parked there. First floor could be employee only. Second idea could be underground parking, using some of the space between the city streets and the underlying platform.
@dd_zzero6827Күн бұрын
Hey Alex. Are you going for realism? If so, all the downtown skyscrapers being on the outside in a row does not look real at all. I would have them clustered in the middle with everything else flowing from there. I know that it wont happen but it would look a lot better. Btw, you did a great job of removing the trains. Most people wouldn't do that. But I think that was a wise choice.
