Thanks for the video. I'm Wellsboro born and raised. My grandfather Glenn " Bill " English was a Military police officer attached to General Pattons personal security. Man the things he saw and heard from ol blood and gut. The men under him loved and respected him highly. Grandpa came home after the war drove truck, then managed a gas station until he retired. We love our home town.

The park is known as the Green, I was born and raised in Wellsboro. Thank you for showing Winken, Blinken, and nod, I used to climb all over the statues at the Green when I was a kid.

Couple of tidbits. The movie theater was one of the first, if not THE first theater in the country to have talkies. Also, during WWII women were stationed on the roof of the Penn Wells Hotel on the lookout for enemy planes. Nice video.

Highland Chocolates used to be Peggy's Candies before Highland's Chocolates took it over. The park you were in is know as The Green. The lights on the median are gas lights. There are gas lights going up Main Street and Central Avenue. They also have some gas lights going up East Avenue also. I live in Wellsboro. Wellsboro is a great place to live. I've lived here since I was born. The town is very beautiful in the fall. Usually toward the end of September the leaves start changing. I would highly recommend checking out the Leonard Harrison side of the Grand Canyon for the best leaf looking experience.

The park is "The Green" and the lamps are gas, not oil. Thus the name for a favorite hotspot on Main Street - The Gaslight. Colton "state park" is known locally as Colton's Point, with the other side of the gorge being called Leonard Harrison State Park.
