Fellow Dutchy here, that was very impressive! I'm about 6 months into learning Greek fairly casually myself and I could follow along somewhat from the words and syntax I recognised. But I very much doubt I'll be this good six months from now.😅 Still, that's ok. I'm already happy I can understand and read any of it at all. Six months ago I only knew Καλημέρα and Καλησπέρα as well. I've been to 8 Greek destinations sofar though. Seven of which islands, some multiple times. We love islands. ;)

@@dexterious35 Pretty good, I just finished the Duolingo Greek course two days ago. I still have a long way to go, but turning it into a habit to learn some Greek every day certainly helped. So I'll keep doing that to refresh what I learned. I listen to a Greek pop chart playlist during work, because I've found that the singing is usually slower and easier to understand. I also have a Dutch to Greek language course book to help me with the grammar and writing. Though life happened and it hasn't been as easy to keep that up as well as the other stuff I'm doing. I've gotten about half way through it though. Recreational immersion is a lot easier. Currently I'm playing The Last of Us part 1 on pc as it's one of the only games that have an option for Greek voiceovers as well as Greek subtitles. There are more games that have Greek subtitles only. But I only use the voiceovers with English subtitles as that's how I learned English as a kid as well. I can follow along while playing and only look down at the subtitles to pick up whatever I don't understand. Lack of Greek voice/voiceovers with English subtitles has been a bit of a problem with shows and movies as well. You can find Greeks shows, but the only subtitle option is usually Greek. Netflix does have Maestro (in blue) ofc and that has been brilliant.

This one I think I have played half way six times. This Dutch girl speaks so well with a good accent. But there is still so much vocabulary that I don’t know that I stop it, look up a word or phrase, type it into Anki. That’s why I have yet to get to the end. I guess what I’m saying is 20 minutes is a lot to grasp. And I like it much when you put words up in the screen to stress that you want to teach that. I use subtitles in Greek as KZbin lets you do that with the cc button. It must be the case that KZbin automatically generates subtitles in Greek. This is simply transcription when it is Greek and not translation. But it also has about 15 other languages. What’s your opinion how accurate those translations? They probably are very good given how good translation software has gotten. It must be auto generated to have so many. Anyway without the subtitles in Greek I would not be able to read it all. Understating it all I am still working on. And since you can turn then off obviously it would be a way to measure your success when you can watch without subtitles. Thanks for putting this together. totally agree with what she said, it's different, it's not easy. I speak fluent Spanish and besides σαββατω there is not much Greek influence on Latin, and thus Spanish, that I see. And Greek is the only language where the object must agree with the verb in μου αρεσει εν πραγματα . That's definitely coming from ancient Greek or somewhere else.
