The room, the way Amy's dressed, her suddenly breaking out into "Oklahoma" at one point (21:53)--I would LOVE to see our gal in a Western. A fun, "classical" Western.

David, the moment that Amy is talking about it's between 22:26 and 22:29. She gets emotional. Can't wait to see those movies. I was hoping to hear more from Nocturnal Animals, but still, great talk!

@I_am_MaX_Frost7 жыл бұрын
She's great and Arrival is a great movie. I like both a lot. I still think, though, that the movie is less about the story of a mother and more about both: communication being key in EVERY kind of relationship and time being completely subjective and not something that dictates everything else.

Great interview btw 😊👍

I remember Amy during the American Hustle promotion, David O'Russell had just broken her spirit in half and it translated into her interviews. You could sense before she revealed it in the press that an interior obstacle was her preventing from feeling at peace with herself. Now she got out of this tunnel. Good for her !
@Hard_Boiled_Entertainment8 жыл бұрын
She herself has constantly clarified that it was not Russell, per se--it wasn't that he "abused" her or anything. It was that playing Sidney, period, was taking a big emotional toll on her, and the intense style of Russell's directing (which she hadn't had a problem with on "The Fighter", where her character was easier to handle) was getting to be too much for her to handle, WITH that. Remember when she got the Golden Globe for American Hustle, she gushed over him a bit...which I doubt she'd have done, if he'd "hurt" her.

"This is a role Tom Hanks would of played" ???😯WTF That is the most ridiculous statement!! This is a very understated performance. That's like saying Scooby Doo would have been wonderful in this role! The film Arrival is a masterpiece but the interviewer states "I watched it last night and this is something Tom Hanks would have played"! They should have just finished on the shot of Amy's mouth dropping open! LOL

Don't you worry Amy, no one likes Susan nor Edward ahaha. I'm reading the book. I still haven't got to see much of Susan's back story, ctually in the book, as far as I go, I'm getting to know Edward and Tony more than Susan. Or Tony along with Susan, sometimes they are so alike.
@Hard_Boiled_Entertainment7 жыл бұрын
By the time the movie ended, I had lost all sympathy for Edward. He couldn't take any criticism, no matter how constructive...he blamed everything on Susan, refusing to even consider that MAYBE he had a part in driving her away in the first place...and to top it off, his spiteful, petty behavior indicated by the ending. Susan grew up. Edward never did.
