One of the most talented screenwriters working today.

Great screenwriter, I loved both of his movies. After seeing them I'll see anything he's attached to from now on; especially since he is moving to directing now.

Taylor Sheridan took the western genre and transcended it in a beautiful and creative way - The western genre is the American myth story. That's the magic of his script. Having lived in Texas and seen the economy steadily decline and people lose their livelihoods, would make the banks a logical villain. However, he doesn't stay with the "evil banks" for long - That would have been predictable. He has the tension and dramatic argument between the brothers and the feeling of failed fatherhood as part of his characters' arcs. Their motivations are universal emotions and therefore, his characters are extremely engaging. If he sticks to the basic emotions, he'll be writing and directing like Clint Eastwood. Very talented guy on a good writing path.

After seeing this and reading his UPROXX interview.. he is my favorite screenwriter. He's so smart and yet so down to Earth. It's not like he's a neurotic or super weird or over the top dorky personality. He's a wise man who knows how to tell a fkn amazing story. He inspires me because he's real af and honest about how he approaches his writing career. Kudos to him.

Jeff Bridges character was very close to his partner, that teasing is what men do to each other, especially alpha males. His reaction to his partners death really says it all, he was so devestated. His character was more of a ball buster, not so much a racist.

Taylor Sheridan's approach to life is an excellent model for how we should all live: some success, failure, learning a lesson or two, and then regrouping, which allows for even greater success. He has become, in my view, one of the most exciting story tellers in the business today for one simple reason: he writes what he knows and listens to the story. This interview is a Master Class that concisely explains how to become successful. 👍

The traveling in these films is something that made an impression on me. Those scenes separate the action while also giving more depth and background of the places we go in the films. The haunting echoes in Wind River, the banter between the sheriff's and brothers in Hell or Highwater, and the intense driving scenes in Sicario. They highlight the tension so well in my opinion!

Awesome interview. I cannot wait for Wind River. The fact that Sicario, Hell or High Water, and Wind River are a thematic trilogy makes them even greater films. (Hopefully Wind River is up to par with the previous films. I have a feeling it will be.)

“She ran six miles in the snow.” is a simple, honest, powerful line that manages to get me sobbing every single time I watched Wind River (close to ten times now). I’m infinitely glad Taylor Sheridan chose to move towards screenwriting and directing, much as I love his character on SoA. His stories, his dialogues.. all precious gems.

I had no idea that he wrote Sicario. Ive seen that movie 3 times and that is something that I normally would never do. I liked the movie because the plot was believable and the dialogue was always short and to the point. Most films today have long drawn out dialogues that no one would ever say in real life. Totally unbelievable.

Sicario and Hell or High Water are absolutely phenomenal films, both of which I love to watch over and over again. Not only the screenplay with interesting, in depth character arcs, but also the visuals, lighting, musical score, direction, and superb actors. Sicario Day of the Soldado - not so much, with the exception of the incredible Mr. Benicio Del Toro. The interviewer on this segment talks too much and talks over Mr. Sheridan. One nitpicking observation if Mr. Sheridan ever reads these comments: he refers to a "Litnus test" as in a very decisive and indicative test, but the correct word is "Litmus".

I’m looking forward to watching it, unfortunately I have to wait until the series is done. Hopefully they’ll maintain the quality throughout but with Mr. Sheridan at the helm that shouldn’t be a problem.

I'd be very interested to see Taylor Sheridan work on another film within a similar vein to his past work, a dark dramatic-thriller/gritty-noir-western, but utilize subtle Scifi-horror elements . . . . Setting/location, atmosphere, etc. There seem to be a good amount of "Blade Runner" and The Like ''hopeful-wanna-be's'' that get released off & on, but fairly obvious rip-offs that lack quality & any originality. However, I think Taylor Sheridan's authentically grounded & unique approach could lend itself to some interesting provocative science fiction.

Those who wish me dead, was not nearly as good as the formers.. his writing was still good, just horribly cast in my opinion, besides Jon Bernthal. His next script/movie gotta be better. He is on a level of greatness, but wont achieve it if we have another Those who wish me dead. That said, love his work.
