Thank you Barry and Dp 30. I have said this movie is very interesting because of the perspective it's written in and that the voice comes from a member of the LGBTQ community and not just allies. I think that it's important to recognize that our voices don't overshadow those of the community we're advocating for in our zeal to represent them.

Such a fine film. This interview was disappointing because the interviewer kept it pretty superficial. Too bad. A fast chat fast. Other interviews with Barry Jenkins have touched me.

The constant interrupting kind of takes away from the interview. I know the interviewer is eager, but let him finish his thought.

Very late to respond, but I'm pretty sure he is using director Mike Leigh's name as a sort of verb there

what is the description for this... any reason you feel the need to appropriate black vernacular just to describe a black director?
@dp308 жыл бұрын
I felt like saying charming muthafucker" and decided that was inappropriate. I don't actually consider this black vernacular. But apologies is it somehow offended you.

I agree with you Daniel, as a black man. Thank you. It’s always “have a sense of humor” when it’s not your community or yourself.
@joyisrael30927 жыл бұрын
Now I see why this film won such praise amongst the Oscar communities. Depicting the so called black man in his sin verses edifying the works of Nate Parker in Birth of Nation displaying the so called black man in his triumph. Very clear
