Kathryn Bigelow is a brilliant director and doesn't get enough credit!

Holy moly what a gorgeous woman - and of course an amazing director

Why do people feel the need to comment on a womans appearance? She is a highly successful filmmaker. She doesn't need the ego boost of strangers telling her she's pretty.

I love the fact that she often directs action movies and mostly, men. She never got herself into the "girl power" thing, nor demonizes men in order to design a strong woman. Don't get me wrong, I love movies with strong female characters but there's a way to do it. She's one of the few female directors that understands masculinity and real male behavior, including our "softer" side, the vulnerabilities, fears or expectations, but also she knows when certain character has to be testosterone driven. She know how to picture good , noble, caring men, and misoginistic, and violent brutes and everthing in the middle. Most women directors make men like a collection of stereotypes.

Will go down as one of the greatest directors of all time. Crazy how many people don't know about her and her art. Katheryn was killing it way before all the political bull crap and she is an inspiration and should be.

Joeyal123 Well, you're late to this. Another female director has been chosen. Someone who has directed episodes of Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and Walking Dead. Also, Snyder was never even a possibility. He's busy with Batman v Superman and J-L part's 1 & 2. He's only a producer for these other films.

While you're at it, also tell Katherine Bigelow's cameraman to take it easy on the zoom in/out button, too. Her movies have way too much shaky cam and zoom in and out and in and out -- it's fucking annoying!

I can remember one part of the Hurt Locker - the bomb tech, unable to defuse the suicide bomber who wants the bomb off his body, runs for his life 20 seconds before the bomb detonates......Kathryn then does the intercut from wide angle to close-up on the bomber for the last time, as the bomber says a brief Arabic prayer just before all of his body goes "Boom!" Then we see the explosion and then Kathryn cuts to the bomb tech running and he turns his head - something like we are seeing that this bomb tech is thinking of this suicide bomber as a friend - just before he gets hit by the wall of smoke from the bomb explosion and is knocked out with his Kevlar suit down in the Iraqi sand. Kathryn then focuses only on the bomb tech already on the ground in a close up shot after the bomb blows. The bomb tech finally moves something and we realize that this bomb tech will be living another day in his very deadly combat job. Pretty good filmmaking, Kathryn.....!!! :) :) Oh yeah!!!
