I recently bought this game and i made my own game. I had a decent amount of experience with making games because i spend so much time creating in littlebigplanet. I was able to make a pretty decent game in my opinion but i was just so disappointed at how dead this game almost feels. Its so lacking in quality too. Theres some decent stuff i found and im impressed at some stuff but the lacking in game community features really just kills this game. I know decent and fun games can be made but what’s the point if you limit your audience like this. There is no satisfaction to sharing your games online in my opinion. That’s my thoughts. With the right support and maybe updates from nintendo I think that could save this game but if they do nothing this game will just become more and more dead.

Super clean man has janky physics mainly because of the amount of stuff that are connected to him. For some reason game builder garage makes it that way. I'm trying to fix it by removing some some of the objects.
@kingnewcomer20293 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there's definitely a bit more limitations in this game compared to last year's video game maker "Dreams" ("Dreams Universe" in Japan) on the PlayStation 4--which is still my personal favorite gaming maker title, and one of my favorite games of all time despite it being very recent--where you pretty much had no limitations at all, the only limit was of course your imagination! :D Still, it's great to see Nintendo getting in on the competition, and hopefully sometime soon they'll add updates to the game, and give a lot more options to players! :)

Do you have experience with this engine and also bigger engines? I just started GBG today and I'm pretty impressed, but would it help me with getting into unity or unreal at all? I seem to grasp GBG well due to its extreme hand holding at the moment, but how well would my experience translate?
@PhillipsAlbright2 жыл бұрын
@@smittyvanjagermanjenson182 I think your understanding of coding concepts and game objects would be what translates. I work in the industry with Unity which I think has a slow learning curve. If you play through game builder garage and you feel competent with it I think you'd be able to handle starting with unity, given you are willing to translate your understanding to Unity's language.

@@PhillipsAlbright well thats good to know thanks! It'll take a while before I fully understand what it's all about with GBG, but I do have a decent pc if I get confident enough to take a crack at a serious engine some day lol. I think what they should of did was add a 30fps mode and increase to nodons to 1000-2000. I guessing the reason they only have 500 is due to the limitations of the hardware at 60fps depending whats on the screen, although I've rarely seen any fps drops unless multiple objects are stacked in one area

I’m glad I watched some tutorials on this. I’ve concluded there is no way I’ll be able to figure this out. If this were easier, I would easily sit in front of this game for days and months trying to make perfect games. Maybe the idea can be simplified one day as in breaking the creators up by genre. I would love a solid 2D fighting game creator, a la TMNT Arcade.
@smittyvanjagermanjenson1822 жыл бұрын
I don't know what you watched, but the game itself teaches you from pretty basic level. So much so that I've figured out how to make basic platformer on my first day and I haven't even hit that class yet. The classes the game offers start you off simple with tag and builds you up to 3D world platforming. The custom sprites and stuff would be something I'd have to look up, but the game itself does so well at basic instruction a caveman could figure it out.

Good luck finding the mini games created by WayForward, Team Meat, The Bit.Trip devs on WW D.I.Y.

While I understand the more advanced people's frustration, I just got this and so far I like how near insultingly simple it breaks down game coding for me. I figure for $30 it had to have some merit and judging on what I'm seeing so far, I was right. I didn't expect the world, but for what it is, it could get me started with a more advanced engine someday. Funny to think I started and botched it with a program very similar to this 10 years ago on a $2000 Mac in high-school and now I'm attempting it on essentially a outdated tablet at this point lol
