My initial response is that what the FJR 1300 and the old ST1300 was categorically designed as a sport touring bike with plenty of power and maneuverability as a sport bike. In my heart I'm a Suzuki fan. I don't think this is the direction they should have merged the new Katana design with panniers. Go back to 1990s Katana 1100 was actually I believe a design that Yamaha, Kawasaki and Honda actually refined. Suzuki's trying to create a new sport tour but I still see relics from the past. Believe me 150 horsepower and a lighter frame creates better maneuverability of what a sport tour should be. With the FJR being discontinued in the US there is only the concours and used ST1300s. The original katana that was created in the late eighties and '90s I always thought was the right direction. Suzuki never carried that on and with the technology they have today would be one of the most elite motorcycles on the street I believe.
