Program Notes:
Walt Disney Animation’s 1994 movie, The Lion King, raises a lot of questions: how come the lionesses don’t have whiskers? Who is Nala’s father? What was Scar’s name before he got his scar? Its award-winning soundtrack, however, is unquestionably awesome, featuring the rst score composed by Hans Zimmer for an animated movie as well as unforgettable songs written by Elton John and Tim Rice. With selections ranging from the lush orchestral portraits of “This Land” to the zany interludes of “Hakuna Matata,” we hope our rendition of the music of The Lion King will let inspire you to feel the love for DPops tonight.
