Long story short, he has DID (dissociative identity disorder) as well as bipolar disorder, and Mito is the identity that step forwards when he is going through a manic low episode. He is a guardian/protector and has a distinct personality/look/sound that you can follow in his music and his videos

@@universodetinta6359 So Mito is one of Ian’s alter Ego’s. He takes over when Ian is feeling a manic down state. On DPR IAN’s ig bio he will show a new moon 🌑 emoji when he’s feeling this irl. The first album kinda explores how Mito affects Ian after he’s Ian again (So Beautiful MV) but the second album is supposed to be more about Mito himself. Christian Yu (aka IAN) has said that after he’s in these states, he doesn’t really know/ remember everything he does. It’s almost out of body. Mito always has the deep distorted voice (you can hear it so far in each album), wears a black fur coat, has one blue or silver eye, wears a cowboy hat and is signaled through a rain and thunder sound.

@@kata5398 I think you can tell from the above comment that you are not the only voice on what bipolar is like, and I do admit I am unsure of who is more accurate, but accusing people of romanticizing is just being unnecessarily insulting. like... do you really need to make it look like everyone who isn't totally right about this one of those airhead fans? I get there's a lot of them and I admit I might be wrong, but no you don't get to just accuse strangers of being one of those. I got my understanding from people who are diagnosed with bipolar (no not that person above, people I knew in real life for years), and yes I've sent them these videos to ask them what they think of it. I love how this version is slightly different lyrically than the original. Gives it a more sad and pleading kind of feeling to me. The last line of verse 2 and the interlude is different in MITO's version Original: "So just stay - - - Why don't you wanna stay? - - - You just wanna trip me out - - - Why don't you wanna stay?" MITO's version: "So just stay (with me) - don't let me go - Why don't you wanna stay (with me)? - don't let me go - You just wanna trip me out - don't let me go - Why don't you wanna stay (with me)? - don't let me go -" There's also a new emphasis on "stay" here where in the original, it was the end of the sentence, but in this version, it's both the end of the sentence and the beginning of a new one saying "stay with me" more specially. I love it! Thank you DPR, Ian, Mito, Mr Insanity, and Christian for all the hard work and heart you put into your work.
