back to create an edit and my dreamers heart is utterly moved by the many comments i'd overlooked as his Stationhead airing began right after-- but your words stand out the most♡ ian shares such Raw glimpses of himself often with us, more so in these last couple years, but this interview was truly so open into explaining this multiverse of mito he has created and just continues to be INSPIRING. be it mito or miito and the eventual trilogy (i imagine will be named as miiito) to the intimate lives ian has spent his journey gifting, there is something special about touching base on taboo topics such as mental health and the passion held for his craft♡ behind the camera or back in front since c-clown, we are indescribably grateful for the impact these artworks have left in our lives. it goes without saying, Dabin Scott Cr-- All of DPR crew are truly deserving of all the love they have worked hard to share as creators in their many outlets. we gang gang and await Regime World Tour with open arms. we gang gang and love you goofs. irrevocably, ALWAYS.

I’m blown away by how honest he is. As someone who deals with mental illness and a personality disorder, I never talk about how I feel to anyone. It’s so scary to open up because I fear being judged (especially as a professional) and I HATE feeling vulnerable. The fact that he’s using a platform to talk about something so personal takes SO much courage. I really can’t believe he has the balls AND the grit to take charge of, to channel his disorder into art like this. It takes a lot of planning, a lot of organization and determination even for someone without a mental illness. But for him to accomplish this and communicate how he feels so well is literally mind blowing to me.

I never found someone so interesting ever i‘m not joking. He is so well spoken and the honesty is VERY appreciated. The insight he is giving us is unreal. Especially the talk about how he deals or works with his illness. When he said that in a sense he abuses it even, especially his lows really hit. Like i‘m learning so much just listening to him talk about so many different topics. Everyone who isn’t giving him as a person and artist a chance is missing out on so many things. But as much i appreciate him, I also hope he gets better and can manage his illness and not destroy himself for the sake of creating art

It’s heart breaking listening to his bipolar disorder. However, his music came out of overcoming w/ bipolar. It’s like human victory. Thanks for sharing, and please keep on going with your creative journey. 🙌🏼🎉🎉
@halakassem89622 жыл бұрын
The rawness and honesty you can feel from his answers is truly admirable. It is so uneasy for anyone to talk about what once broke them and from the stories he told, he went through hell and back and still does from time to time. I just want to say thank you for being here and for fighting for yourself and most importantly sharing your stories, your vulnerabilities and your journey with us. The first album stayed with me in a way I would never forget. I remember the first time I listened to Scaredy Cat and was in awe at how another person could capture feelings I thought I was the only one who experienced them. I can talk for ages about how Ian's music has helped me feel that I'm not alone. You are a true artist who encapsulates what it means to go through the cycle of being human; our angels and demons and our highs and lows. We appreciate you so much

If it isn’t too personal for him, I’d love to see a tattoo tour where he explains each of their meanings. He seems like he has really cool ones!
@kima_952 жыл бұрын
There's an old Tumblr post that explains his older tattoos, you can find it just by googling Christian Yu tattoos! As for the newer ones, in past instagram lives he's said that he will usually get them as a representation of his memories or different life stages, but some of them like his right hand tattoo he got at random while traveling! 🤗

genuinely have only listened to dpr ians songs, like I know next to nothing about him. This interview was so interesting, i found myself so fascinated by everything he said. to think 'so beautiful' was made while he was at his lowest is so crazy to me, firstly i didnt even know he had Bipolar Disorder so that for me was a shock in itself. anyway, this was great, hearing him speak so freely about his experiences was comforting in a way, could listen to him talk for days honestly.

To be honest, I've ever only see him in shorts, and recently I saw him danced with Aiki, got hooked by the visual ngl. Then I watched a video of him, next thing I know I'm here listening for an hour. It's fascinating yes how I can just keep listening to him, having just learned about his other name Christian Yu and has never listened to any of his song, yet. Man, this man is super smart. His choice of words, the way he tells stories. Now I see more of him and I'm learning even more from the comments. I just knew he directed Bobby's and Mino's mv which shocked me cuz I'm a sucker for YG musics since Idk, 2009? So yeah that's a bit of a connection, I might as well be a fan!

I appreciated how open DPR Ian was about his Bipolar I. When I first discovered his music, I was floored. I didn’t know anything about him but I saw myself so intimately in his work. I researched him and found out his diagnosis, and it all clicked. I felt seen in a way I never have before. Two years ago (finally! In my 30s) I was diagnosed with Bipolar II, also rapid cycling. It has taken me two years of trying 11 medications to try to get me to some “baseline” and, like Ian, I understand how difficult/impossible it can be. I’m also in the arts and I strongly identified with how he discussed not being able to identify his work when in the “opposite” mood. Like it was done by someone else. And like I can’t come back to it when I’m on the flip side. I was so grateful that he was able to be so articulate about the way he experiences his life. I’ve never heard someone famous talking about living with Bipolar with such candor and frankness. I hope this interview was able to enlighten some people who just know about Bipolar Disorder by what they’ve seen in movies. Each person obviously experiences it differently, but Ian shows us that it’s possible to be a functional and brilliant member of society and not just a guy screaming on a roof that he’s Jesus or something.

Listening to Ian's voice is always healing such a soft spoken person. He is a genuine soul being himself. All his Insta lives are so fun and nice to watch. His music is so different it's a reflection of him, such a creative genius. He directs MVs , edits , composes sings, dances and what not. The way he is open about himself, his personal struggles makes him all the more inspiring. I really love him for being himself and giving us such amazing music and all the more cools MVs. So glad he met DPR Live and other folks they really are such a cool bunch

This hit me too.. I suffer from bipolar disorder as well, its extremely hard to be normal about talking about being on meds.. cuz theres a time period we take to adjust to the meds we cant exactly do the things we want or live wild n free or drink when we want.. so asking about it in a callous manner is a huge no.. i just wished that people would be more educated about such mental health conditions.. people live with it n battle with it everyday.. other than that it was a really good interview

I always had the biggest admiration for Christian. Ever since C-Clown's debut I thought this guy was absolutely captivating with his great talent and hard work. Now I can definitely say that he's an inspiration for many artists and idols in the industry. From back then when he was filming and editing all of C-Clown's vlogs and MV teasers to till now him being a full-on producer, director and solo artist with his own dedicated audience makes me feel like he's an example that every single idol can get out of the program and start over with their own full control over what they do in their career. Such a great guy.

The best thing about this is just hearing Zach hyping IAN up and him being so humble and yet so happy taliking to someone who wants to understand him and his emotions better.
