Sometimes it's better not to know the lyrics' meaning or to ignore it. There are two really great songs: "Chollima on the wing" and the DPRK cover of the "PLA marsh". For the first one, I find the sound of the Korean lyrics more interesting and far more entertaining than the message they convey, while the PLA march's lyrics have no artistic value to me whatsoever. In fact, I can't think of a bigger "crap lyrics - awesome melody" divide in any other regime song.

Brilliant composing and performing. I'm music student and i know what it takes to perform this clean and smooth. I really can't believe such this band exist over there. Seriously, What else can replace the ideology which people sit down and listen for an hour and half and not get bored? That's when world is getting scary for me!

Look at it this way, my friend. The DPRK has "sacred" and "secular" music. A good example of sacred would be the song, "Glorious and Admirable". "Please Let the Snow Fall on New Years Day" would be an example of secular. The people of DPR Korea take their music extraordinarily seriously. "It's not so much an "ideology" because an ideology is political philosophy that can be changed and altered according to events. DPRK music speaks from the soul of the people. More that 5.000 years of pure soul. I'm a Yankee and I never get bored with the music of the Moranbong Band. It's about all I listen to anymore.

'm more inclined to think Marshal Kim provided the equivalent of "field guidance" at the end of the selection process. That is, he looked over the finalists gave his stamp of approval. But with all his duties and responsibilities, he could possibility be involved in the minutiae. If I understand correctly, his sister Kim Yo Jong was involved in putting the group together. There were hundreds of other people as well. Marshal Kim just gave his final blessing. Tragically, it appears the group has been disbanded. The Moranbong Band was the best thing to come out of DPR Korea. If people there had known what they were doing, the group would have made a formidable ideological weapon. The Moranbong Band could have neutralized the entire nuclear arsenal of the United States. Americans would never ,let their government nuke a country in which these beautiful women live. Not going to happen.

Although I can't understand what they are singing about, the instrumental, vocal, & visual effects they have are so favorable that it seems to make a positive impact on our heart, that is, the MB Band may be influential to a greater extent to render us a positive effect on DPRK or N. Korea. They simply proves the power of music; with no question, it possesses almost an unimaginable & unequivocal impressive influence on our mind. Let's coexist in peace respecting each other even though we may differ in terms of race, culture, & political system. I wonder if anyone else feels the same w/ me,,,,,,(07/28/23)
